Okay so I discovered the book while learning about zines, and bought it to prep before attending my first zine fest at a Washington, DC event sponsored by our local public library. If you're totally clueless as I was, I'd recommend it to get ideas and be introduced to this culture of artists, writers, and publishers. The book is small, slightly taller than a standard Sharpie Marker, and a little narrower in width. To me it makes the book a perfect marketable item, is handy and small enough to tuck into your backpack, briefcase, purse, or other tote. The book has a simple layout which combines typed script with illustrations/artwork that gives you as the author states, "a jumping off point and a few hints so you can figure out how to do things in your own way." That makes this usable to anyone who wants to delve into making zines. Try it, buy it, and it you're not satisfied, attend a zine fest and leave it for others who appreciate this genre of publishing--they're sure to find a use and good home for it in the zine community.

A Great Overview Of Zines and Zine Creation.
This is essential reading for anyone looking to get into zine creation. It's not the latest version, but it contains most of the same information. It covers different design techniques, creation methods and distribution options. Highly recommended.

This was a great tool for me to start making zines. It helps simplify and focus ideas into a semi-professional product. Loaded with useful info and history. A great buy for very little green.
