The Anthology of Indian Music, Volume One

I listened to a friend's copy of this when it was new, many years ago. It is a perfect example of Ravi Shankar's mission to introduce Indian music to Western listeners. It includes a wonderful set of pieces, with explanations and general information. I never tired of listening to the records, and learned more, enjoyed more with each repetition.This set should be available on a disc --- but I've never found one. I wish that I could. Getting a good set of the original records is a true joy.

I have had my set for 50 years now and although there are many great albums of Indian music I always gravitate back to this one. I too wish it would be remastered and released digitally. It should be in the collection of everyone who sets aside time in their life for thoughtfulness and reflection.
