This is a great scale that is attractive enough to leave out in my kitchen. I thought about buying a cheaper scale from some random company but I'm very happy I made the choice to get something nicer. The scale works flawlessly, the buttons are easy to press and won't move the scale when pushed, the display is easy to read, and I like how the unit sign shows up once the scale has settled on a weight. If I were to nitpick some problems could be that the glass on the scale doesn't really seem to lock in, but this isn't usually a problem since it just sits on my counter and isn't often moved. Another minor problem is that the unit button would probably be better off on the top of the scale in case you wanted to change units without taking off the item being measured. Finally, the scale could maybe be nicer if the display lit up, but I never really cook with the lights off anyway so it isn't a big deal. Overall this is a great scale for measuring out serving sizes for someone on a diet. The customer support is great as well. Buy from an American small business, not some mystery company.

I know you get what you pay for and I decided to get this model which is not the cheapest on Amazon, but not the most expensive either. I am very pleased with the craftsmanship of the unit. It has a great "tare" function. Comes in grams mode but can be changed using a button type feature on the bottom. Once it is changed, it will stay in that mode unless you press the button again. The ounces measure to the nearest 0.05 of an ounce which is pretty good-less than half a spoonful of sugar. Measurements are well calibrated (I tested against known weights) and repeatable (within the 0.05 oz tolerance). The ounces separate into pounds and ounces once you reach 16 ounces. This is the only thing that might be a drawback for some because if you need to measure 57 oz. you will need to divide by 16 to know how many lbs and what the leftover ounces will be. The glass plate can be removed for cleaning. I think it is well worth the price.

This is the first food scale I purchased, based in part on the reviews that I read. I have tried a variety of foods and products and find this scale to work quite well and to be quite accurate. It also has a tare function that allows you to subtract out the weight of the container in which you have placed your food product. Important for me, it is also easy to clean. The numbers are large enough to read for those whose visual acuity has lessened a bit. The only things I would change are the addition of a indigo light and maybe an option of colors. I would have liked the scale to be a bit more sturdy but that is my perfectionistic personality coming through. All in all, it is a good scale for the price and I have not had any difficulties with it.

Fantastic product. service and transaction.... This was an impulse buy - - at a great price, and I have been wanting one for a long time... It is amazing - - I didn't expect something so functional to be so attractive - - it adds a touch of class to my kitchen, and I have already used it quite a bit. I lived in the UK for 3 years, and have several British cookbooks where the amounts are in 'weights'... Converting recipes was a pain, but now, after trying a couple, I wish I had gotten this one a lot earlier..... The shipping was quick and the item is packaged well... Very pleased with this scale so far. It arrived on time (during a snowstorm actually) and was in perfect condition. At first, when I read the directions, it said the product needed two batteries "not included", but they were actually included in the box. THANK YOU! :)The scale itself seems sturdy and it looks great on my counter. Not some ugly thing you'd hid in a drawer.The number one reason why i am writing this review is due to the company's customer service. It's amazing. I received a personal email the day a purchases the product, another email the day it shipped, and 2 more since receiving the scale, making sure I was satisfied with their product. Not many companies these days take that much time to ensure they have happy customers!

I am very pleased with this excellent, beautifully designed food scale. I hesitated choosing this scale over the others because I was afraid my choice was based solely on appearance. The scale is accurate, lightweight, switches easily from ounces to grams, has the tare feature, the display is large so it's easy to read, and this scale has a small footprint, too. The item description dimensions are for the box size, so I was pleased the scale itself is only 8-1/2 x 6-3/4" and it's curved design makes it easy to pick up with one hand to move around. Also, the customer service is awesome! They sent me an email even before the scale arrived thanking me for my order. Great experience, and a fantastic quality product.

The design is sleek and contemporary. Looks good sitting out on the counter (I am picky about what sets out on the counter--don't like much clutter). The scale accomplishes what its function. The price is reasonable, and I love that I am patronizing a small business. The company actually emailed before it shipped and after it shipped. Oliver & Kline really want their customers to be satisfied. I love that. Would definitely recommend this scale and this company. No, I did not receive any incentive to write this recommendation. I love reading reviews but rarely write them. I felt compelled to write for this because of the company and its product.

I don't pretend to know much about cooking or measuring, but the Best Kitchen Food Scale certainly makes for easy and exacting measuring. I tested this scale by putting the exact amount nuts and grains into various bowls. I measured the bowl weight of the bowls first, which is then the tare weight, by placing each individual bowl on the scale and pressed the tare button and then added the nuts and grains. I repeated this step using three different weight bowls, and each time the weight of the nuts and grains came out to the exact same weight. Now I know that the scale is accurate, and so simple to use.
