Those other gimmicky products can't touch this classic standy!
I love this stuff, been using it for decades on my horse tack and leather boots. No gimmicks, no bizarre edible ingredients, no suave label, just a great, proven product that gives consistent high-quality results. It conditions and absorbs well without leaving a residue or film. The smell is light and pleasant. After using it leather feels nourished without being mealy, weak, oily, or wet even if you over-apply it. It doesn't excessively darken leather and won't discolor leather if the application isn't perfectly even. It's ideal for thick leather but fine for thin leather if you use a light coat, and will last a long time. Like most conditioners, don't use it on suede or rough-out.It seems like only horse-people know about this stuff, which is surprising because I see more and more "saddle" products being used on all types of other leather goods, and this works better than 95% of them - trust me, I've tried them all before coming back to this old standby. Maybe people don't use it because it's not made with honey or milk or guava fruit or dragonfly farts, and doesn't have a fancy label? (The label is so very..... GERMAN isn't it? lol) Though I do love to follow conditioning with a beeswax protectant, like Obenhaufs which is an excellent product.I apply this stuff with my hands, but a sponge or a rag is fine. It's not so hard or thick you need your hands to melt it first, but it'll absorb a little better/faster and you'll lose a lot of product to rags and sponges which soak up the conditioner. For extremely dry leather (especially old saddle flaps), apply a generous coat and then gently bend/roll the leather back and forth, in and out - without forcing the leather too much (I cracked a brittle saddle-flap that way once). That'll separates the fibers and pull the conditioner in. Keep applying and flexing until you have the suppleness you want, then apply a good coat and let it sit overnight. Wipe off any excess the next day and let it sit a few more hours, there'll be no film or residue. I've made dry, brittle, cardboard-like leather supple and new-looking with that method. Also works for breaking in a new saddle fast, if you prefer not to ride in a stiff, slick saddle until it decides to soften up, if it ever does.Absolutely love this stuff, it's a classic and far superior to most of what's out there these days.

Brought my boots back to life!
I found this out about this leather balm by a friend at my old barn and I loved this product since then. I have had this pair of boots for about 3 years with constant abuse (sorry boots). I have had this other leather balm that was like $10 and it hasn’t brought the leather life back when I first bought it. With that being said I bought this leather balm in hopes it would bring it back to life (I was like 85% sure it would). Well all I got to say is that it did bring it back to life and it’s almost original color just a bit darker. I think it will become more of the original color when it absorbs the leather balm. I definitely recommend this product! Also don’t have to use a lot of it because it’s very rich. So definitely worth the money!

Perfect for Vegetable Tanned Leather.
Wow! This is the best leather conditioner I've ever used. I purchased a lovely vegetable tanned handbag and used it on that. It enriched the color of the bag but did not darken it hardly at all...if at all. Just added a lovely soft sheen. I also used it on another veg tanned piece that was very light in color. Same result. Made this piece look just lovely without significant darkening. A tad but not much. I needed something with no chemical additives and this fit the bill. Smells wonderful too and my hands were soft after using the product on the bags.

Great leather sauce. highly recommended for quality leather to keep it supple and strong.
This may DARKEN the leather. Don't use it on light leather and TEST IT on a small, inconspicuous location before you slather the entire piece in this stuff. Some leather will lighten up a little after some of this dries, others will be PERMANENTLY darker. Ok, enough warning. This stuff is GREAT. I absolutely love what it does to my belts, sheaths, and any other quality leather I put it on. It makes dry leather come alive again. it won't magically heal cracked leather that dried out completely. The damage is done. But if you're trying to AVOID damage and use that leather until it wears out completely after decades of reliable service. Buy this. Apply liberally. just scoop it out with your hands and rub it into every nook and cranny. get out a Qtip to get it way in there. Your leather will thank you. Even if it is a little darker.

Smells nice
I really like the scent. It’s not strong, but light and pleasant. It’s not greasy either and absorbs nicely into leather. So far so good, only been using it for about a week on my saddle but I really like it!

Amazing product
Words alone can’t express how incredible this product is. It conditions and doesn’t leave a sticky residue or a shiny finish. It restored the leather on a handbag that was sold to me for $1.00 because the owner thought it was beyond repair. A little product goes a long way. What a fantastic value!!
