Solid performance, Acceptable price
Takes very sharp pictures and the focus is very fast and near silent, exactly what I wanted. Have tested the WR in the Seattle rain and an unfortunate slurpee accident to no ill effects. The lens is pretty heavy, much more so that the Tamron 28-75mm 2.8, but you get a very solid feeling with large front element that looks professional. I do wish it was cheaper as the aforementioned Tamron can be had for only a few hundred dollars, but the results are noticeably sharper and the focus is more accurate so the price at least means a solid upgrade.

A thing of photographic beauty.
This is an incredible piece is glass from Pentax. I see reviews that it is a Tamron rebadged, with the added blessings of weather sealing. If it is, that is fine by me. All I can tell you is that the captured images are full of life and can take you back to the moment they were taken. Crisp, colorful, a thing of beauty. It is not a cheap investment but it is also very competitive vs other brands and the images are well worth the extra dollars. Prior to this lens, I used a Tamron 2.8 28-75 A009 which is a few steps behind regarding image quality, focus speed, and craftsmanship. I still have it, but I don't see myself using it lately because this new one is just better in almost every way; only exception is size as the Tamron is very compact and lighter. This is my new go to lens for 80% of my shooting. Portrait work, some landscaping, flowers, and a bit of street photography. Very happy with it.

Consistent!
I have shot Pentax since the days of film. I have had many Pentax lenses but Pentax has until now come out with the so called holy trinity. Most of my Pentax lenses are great but not consistent when it comes to focusing. This lens is miles apart from the predecessors. This lens is SILENT when focusing and tack sharp every single shot on both my k-3 and my k-1. Well worth the price and investment.

Excellent lens with exceptional build quality
I saw this lens marked at a pretty big discount from Amazon Warehouse Deals so I decided to pick it up.Overall I am very satisfied with it. I’m using a K3 and my pictures come out very sharp and sometimes rival my prime lenses if I get everything right. Weather sealing is a big plus (because that’s why I bought Pentax) and this lens has been out in the rain & dust and it has handled everything. You will get some glare without a hood but that’s expected with such a big lens. This lens is also heavy and you will notice it, but overall that’s not a big deal. 10/10 would buy again.

24-70 vs 70-200mm Pentax
Okay so this lens has become my work horse I honestly should have bought it first but I'm kinda glad it worked out the way it did, this lens is versatile. I can be indoors shooting and then moments later still have some reach that I need to be able to get that great shot. Getting into specifics I feel like this lens does everything well but having those other lenses can make your photography that much better. So doing portraits I like the 70-200mm more it just has more of a beautiful bokeh similar to using a 100mm or the 73mm it also has that reach for weddings and shoots you need to stay a bit farther off. Same goes for the opposite at the wide angle the 24-70 just can't get everything into the shot and the distortion starts to occur. So if you're looking for an all around lens that does everything you'll need it to for travel or family or whatever get this lens and once you start finding your niche move onto other lenses. Will post photos later on.

Worth every penny!I have to say i was nervous as anything buying this cause of the $$$ but since the first photo i took with it two days ago i have been in love. This is the first high dollar lens i've bought and im absolute amazed. At first i thought the auto focus was broken on it (im use to motor that are loud, slow, and take a bit of adjusting). Needless to say it isn't. It barely makes a sound focusing and does it in a snap from the closest to furthest focal points. The focus ring on the lens doesn't move with the motor and that is a big perk. It has the ability to switch between auto and manual focus in a snap as well. If you press the shutter button halfway and hold it there you can adjust the focus however you'd like and it won't refocus or damage the lens at all. Auto-focus is the best i've ever seen. The constant f/2.8 is amazing. This lens handles low-light situations like a charm with amazing clarity and quality through the whole frame. I have it paired with a Pentax K-S2 (which i love but is technically an entry level camera) and the pictures are absolutely incredible. I have the Pentax 50mm f/1.8 prime lens and i thought that had incredible quality. This one is even better though. I love it. I was borderline this or the Tamron version, I don't mean any disrespect to Tamron (i've never tried their lenses), but there is no way it can compare to this one. Honestly awesome.

A very nice lens
I get nice crisp images with this lens. It works well with my K-1 Mark II body. Be aware that it is a heavy lens. I shot the attached in picture of our cat sunning after a snowstorm, this pasts March. The first picture is the full image, the close-up is cropped from the full image.

Sturdy, well-made lens.
Yes, it's bigger and heavier than others in it's range and it's hard to see why it doesn't have Pentax's professional designation (*). I have no doubt I'll have loads of fun using it on landscape work as well as having it as one of two travel lenses.

Great lens Pentax 24 - 70 mm HD - D FA F2.8
I tested and found it interesting that this lens is as sharp as famous sigma 35 ART when both at f/2.8. I would recommend for portrait works as corners tend to be slightly distorted. An overall great and reliable lens with waterproof.

ATTENZIONE: distributore estero, no garanzia Fowa

Experience with lens after months of use.
My thoughts after using for quite a few months now are as follows...Pros:- Image quality is excellent- Very consistent images, technically very nice.- Weather sealed- Excellent 'out of the box' calibration (no adjustment needed)- Quiet and quick to focus with SDMCons:- Bokeh when zoomed can show some onion-ing effect with background lighting, largely unnoticable unless zoomed right in or HUGE light circles in images though.- Lacks character in lens of some older lenses available to us as Pentax users. This digital lens is technically very nice, but just be aware it doesn't have the magic fairy dust the likes of the FA lenses have for example (I have the 77mm which makes it much harder for this lens).- Zoom ring similar to most modern lenses, being a bit more firm to turn. Not hard, just harder than film lenses. In practice doesn't make much difference EXCEPT with video. There is a slightly more firm area just as you leave 24mm, which no matter how smooth your handling will result in camera shake if you try use the zoom during video. Pretty rare thing to do so probably not such an issue for most people but worth mentioning.Last but not least, and this is not so much a con, but just a comment. Remember being 82mm diameter you're looking at ~$100 minimum for filters so factor that into your price. Please don't buy this lens and put a cheap $20 filter in front of it. It's quality glass. Can't rate it less than 5 stars because it is a VERY capable lens.

Sehr gutes Objektiv
