Well, nothing is perfect. Double check both parts that snap (lid to pitcher and flip top to lid) and put you hand over the top and press down some when you shake it. You have to remember, the liquid contents weigh a lot so don't shake the thing like a mad man and it should be ok. It also works fine just stirring it with a big spoon too.

Measurement marks are both metric and imperial. For Metric, every 1/2 liter is marked up to 2 Liters. For Imperial, every pint up to 2 quarts
