Review: FAMILY OF BOXERS LIKE THESE MITTS. - My 3 sons and I are boxers. We not only train at a local boxing gym, we also train at home. We also own other boxing mitts (i.e. Winning, Cleto Reyes and ProBoxing). This is our first Everlast EverGel Mantis boxing mitts. If the quality is there, we expect it to last a few years just like the other boxing mitts we own. During a training session at home (in addition to training at our boxing gym), my sons and I found that these are very good mitts. My #3 and #2 sons are light heavyweights. My #1 son is a middleweight. I am a Cruiserweight. These mitts are also used by our boxing gym. So, overall, we find these mitts to be just fine!

The mitts feel lighter than I expected. The hand slots are soft leather (more likely soft fake leather), and are stitched on to the pad. The pad feels like a hard foam, and indents slightly when hit. After a few strong punches I noticed slight dents in the pads. The hand slots also seem to be designed with the intention that any hand will fit in them, left or right. The only drawback to this is that you never feel like you're holding it comfortably, however it is quite secure. It seems to get the job done and was a very reasonable price. I am satisfied and recommend this to anyone who is boxing on a budget.
