Jump at Home: Grade 5 (JUMP at Home Math Workbooks)

My daughter is homeschooled, and has dyslexia and trouble with math memory. This book has been a game changer for us. We are most of the way through the book after 5 months, and topics I was dreading, like fractions, multiple digit multiplication, and long division, are covered in such a way that she understands, while working on mental math strategies to help with math facts. She doesn't get frustrated, and often chooses to do math first.

I love this math program! We use Math-U-See for my other son (which I also love), but it moved too fast for my oldest who really struggles to grasp mathematical concepts. This curriculum breaks down steps more than any other I have ever seen. And it has the student practice the small steps until he/she masters the small step before adding the next step. If you have a child struggling with math, give this book a try.

This was a great program for enhancing my son's math skills. He has always been an average math sutdent, but he has more potential, and his dislike of math was doing mothing to help him reach it. So glad we used this last summer. It absolutely bolstered his confidence and made math a whole lot less painful than previous years.

GREAT for struggling math students! This is a wonderful program; I love it. I use it with my 11 year math hating daughter.

My boys love using these math books. Concepts are laid out incrementally so that they can figure a lot of it out independently.

I really liked the idea of this workbook when I bought it. I like some of the information and mental math tricks. Unfortunately, we were not able to get past the fractions sections. The section that we were supposed to start with to build confidence. It did not build my daughter's confidence. There were too many things on a page and it was really overwhelming for her so that every time I tried to do math with her she had a melt down. I tried to cover the pages and just leave a small portion to work on but this workbook was just not for us.

With maths I find its all about practice. I have bought quite a few maths workbooks during the current covid lockdown. My son struggles with maths and does not enjoy toiling over maths workbooks. Of all the books I bought, this was the best in terms of building his concepts and giving solid practice. I was happy to see he does not hate this book like he hated others.

We are not math zealots, but this is definitely helping my daughter with her math. Difficult to find the section teacher is working on, but would still recommend. * Now I am told the “extended version” has 0% of her school curriculum * 🙄 and the book is being less useful.

We have finished Jump at Home Grade 3 and are just beginning Grade 4 now......I have a son who struggles in math and these teach in a unique way different then any other math workbooks I have tried......this man is a genius and my son is catching up quickly to where he should be......he isn't thrilled about having to do math over the summer (lol) but his math teacher is in for a shock come fall when the kids go back and my son is more then ready!!!Order arrived in two days and in perfect condition!!
