Compact size is nice for some tasks
I have the Makita 18v 3/8" ratchet wrench, but with my 5.0 AH batteries it was cumbersome to use both in weight and volume. These 2.0 AH batteries are less than half the size and weight of the 5.0 AH ones, at the expense of runtime. This worked well, charged perfect, and was nicer to use for this application.

real deal batteies
i bought these over the generic brands because i wanted a product with no issues. batteries work great and really last - the 2 amp hr are light weight so great for the hand held tools. didn't last so long when used on the dyson vacuum - a little dissapointing

Nice, Light Battery
I bought this specifically to attach to a makita LED flashlight only. For that purpose, it's a rock star. Much lighter than the bigger batteries and I bet it would run for 48 hours if I left it on. None of the makita batteries are cheap but so far I've never been disappointed by one. This one has been working great for a few months now. I have some 3.0 batteries that have lasted me nearly a decade and they still work perfectly.

If you carry your impact in a holster or do overhead work, this is worth it
I bought this primary for my impact. I got a tool belt but the 5AH batteries add so much weight it felt like a lead weight hanging off my hip. This battery fixes that problem at the cost of battery life of course. If you're holding a tool overhead a lot this battery also helps with fatigue.Hopefully it lasts, I have had 3 Makita batteries fail, two 5AH and one old 3AH. The 3AH I tried to charge when it was cold and Makita in it's infinite wisdom turns the battery into an expensive brick after it records 3 failed charge attempts. The other two failed to charge randomly, with one of those having the flashing battery charge level LEDs of doom. Makita replaced the 5AH ones under warranty. The first one turned around in a few days from the repair center, the second one took over a month. I think Makita has consolidated it's repair centers on the West coast and now it's taking much, much longer for service as the remaining repair centers are overloaded. If you're a pro who needs fast repair service beware.

Less juice than 3Ah, but super light and charges very fast.
Nice and light, fine for smallish tasks. Still, nothing to sneeze at compared to Ryobi 18+. (I have a Ryobi in the house, Makita in the shop) If you are just working on a weekend project, these provide enough juice for a few hours of use. Use the 3 Ah or 4 (or 5)Ah for the longer jobs, and these when you want to lighten your arm. These are noticeably less juice than the 3Ah, but that's the tradeoff for being light and small. The other uptick is, charging time is super fast.
