My hat size is XXL. 24-inches. I usually return or give away hats I buy without trying. I took a chance on this hat and am very happy. It fits! It's soft, warm, the chin strap keeps out the wind. The face mask doesn't fit for me. I tossed the facemask. I use a scarf and ski googles. If you live in a cold windy place like I do then this hat is a great investment.

Very comfortable and warm. Head lining is nice and keeps the head warm, good fit and wraps around nicely to keep ears and cheeks warm. Clip snaps and releases easily and makes a good snug (or loose) fit. Seems decent quality.

I bought this a few years ago. I had a Carhart jacket that was amazing!!! but it didn't have any type of hood. So, while I was very warm with that jacket, I had to find something for my head. I found this hat just looking for anything and bought it as soon as I found it. I currently have a Tommy Hilfiger jacket that has a hood attached, and while the whole thing is warm, I find that the hood attached to it is really big. The hood easily can come down over my eyes and since it is so big, it is also open to air getting in and not warming you properly. This hat is the best of both worlds! It fits snug, and it comes with a detachable face guard... so you can look like Optimus Prime! :) I still have it, but it hasn't really come to the point where I've pulled it out this winter yet. I'm typically fine until the weather gets into single digits, but I know exactly where it is, and I am sure it will be making its way out and being put to use soon!

Bought 2 of these for me and my husband in black and khaki. We live in the western U.P. and and can get some frigid temps and biting wind. I really liked the concept of this hat with a detachable mask and I received right when the temps plummeted but, unfortunately, the hat fell short for us as we're both having issues.Pros:- loose so hearing not impaired- lightweight- very warm- super soft "fur"- quality appears goodCons:- one size fits all really doesn't. Fits loose on both of us. Perhaps a loose fitting is intended but would prefer the flaps to tighten more under the chin but, even with straps tightened all the way, there's a very large gap under the chin leaving neck exposed. Was hoping this hat would eliminate need for scarf or neck gator but that's not the case.- face mask rendered useless if wearing it snapped. Hat can't be tightened enough so face mask is also very loose and only provides coverage if you don't move your head because as soon as you do the mask creeps up and covers the eyes. Mask fits much better if worn around the ears which I find uncomfortable because then the mask almost feels too tight. I'm now wearing this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FSFYDKJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 under the hat on the really cold days which is providing the face coverage and also covering the exposed area of the neck.- as other reviewers stated, there is no place to store the mask when not in use.- could use a better design for keeping the mask from shifting or offer up different sizes.While I like the hat and the concept I find there are just too many things I don't like and therefore can't justify a 5 star rating. I was hoping to find something that would eliminate things like gator and scarf but something is still needed when it's real cold. I'm now trying to figure out how I can alter the hats with a set of buttons or something that will better hold the mask to the flaps which will keep the mask in place and at the same time pull the flaps up and under the chin. Didn't want to have to alter a $23 hat but had I bought them for the $14 price tag they are at the time of this writing I would have no problem altering. If our noggins were a bit bigger and our faces fuller maybe they'd fit much better. Thought about returning but could end up with same gapping issues under the chin and still need a scarf or gator as I didn't find a lot with a mask included. Perhaps once I alter I can eliminate the scarf and gator.

I bought this on the strength of waterproofness. I live in serious snow country and do a lot of outdoor snow removal. I do a lot of snowblowing and often get covered with snow and it's a big plus if snow doesn't melt through. However, the waterproof in this hat goes both ways so if you work for any length of time in this, it collects a lot of moisture inside and does not breathe in the least. So you end up soaked from you own sweat even if it's cold outside. That said, if you are not working hard or exercising, this hat is warm and comfy. I tried to use the mask but it wouldn't stay snapped and it fogged my glasses. That's a hazard from anything I put over my mouth in cold weather so I'm not holding it against this hat.
