Works great even for 70lbs 8yr old
Ordered these for an 70lbs 8yr old who didn't want to ride outside but wanted an indoor bike. I installed for normal training wheels use, and then placed old adult shoes under each training wheel, which lifts just enough to lift the back wheel off the ground creating a very stable kid indoor trainer.I was concerned that the weight might be too much for the training wheels but they appear to be built to support even heavier than 70lbs. They are very sturdy and stable and able to use on a bigger wheel diameter than I'm using. My picture is on a 16in diameter wheel. There is two additional holes above for larger wheels and each hole is slightly elongated to allow a more custom height fit. The hardest part was the awkward sitting position required for an adult to install any training wheels and the bizarre paragraph after the actual instructions. I didn't tighten super tight the first time and slowly it became apparent I needed to move the metal stem back into alignment and actually tighten all the way. So even a "duh" mistake was no big deal to notice without catastrophe and easily corrected. Now he's zooming around the house and occasionally using the adult shoes trick for turning into an indoor stationary bike trainer. He's even begun to show interest in riding outside finally. We originally avoided training wheels because of safety and opted for balance bike but that just made him opt out of biking all together for years.

It fits !
Got it to help our kids to learn to bike. It fit, and we love the flash color when it spin. It is more visible at night though.

They are built tough. But literally literally nothing didn’t need modification.
Good-the wheels and hangers are built tough. Lights work. Solid product. Replaced a set my kids bent through in a day.Bad1. It was missing a flat washer. I had to get one from the garage. Not big a deal-but an inconvenience2. The tabs on the locking washer were too thick to fit as needed. This was a pain. Luckily I have metal snips on the garage. One I got the tabs to fit-it came together great-but if you can’t modify this-measure the space and ask.3. The free bell has a bolt on the inside set in plastic to hold it as you turn. It pushed out of place when I tried to tighten it on. and was shaking loose in the bell. I had to pull it apart and hold the back of the bolt down to get the threads catch. Luckily the hogs were easy yo rest and it just all pushes into place easily. In end. It all works great-but literally nothing came ready to go and it all need modification

Bicycle require a long axle. Required major modifications to install
These training wheels are installed on the end of the wheel axle between the bike frame and nut that holds the axle in to the frame (see photo). If the bike has a long axle they are easy to install. However on my granddaughter's bike the axle was not long enough to accommodate the thickness of the training wheels. My husband spent over an hour with an angle grinder trimming the mounting plates and vertical bar to get the thickness down enough so that he could get a few threads of the retaining nut engaged with the axle. Some training wheels sold on Amazon include axle extenders for bikes with short axles. Check the length of your bike axle before purchasing.

Different size brackets
The brackets are two different sizes/lengths they are not identical. You can see the difference looking at the bend/corner of the bracket and then the end where the wheel screws onto is bent outward. This causes one wheel to be slanted and crooked when tightened onto the bracket. The product we received is therefore defective and will not work. I really want to love it, but it will need to be returned. The picture with the wheel on is the good bracket and wheel.

Came with a surprise
The bike I used for the training wheels is a 20inch. It came with a surprise, a cute little sunflower bell that matched the bike. The wheels do have lights, and they seem to be good quality.

Lasted 2.5 years of average use = 2.5 stars (rounded down)
Tires are durable, quiet, and lights functioned well when spinning.Bought Sep 2021. In July 2024 the bearings on one wheel destroyed itself and the wheel came off the bike while riding. Luckily we're ready to take them off the bike anyway, but they won't be able to be donated/reused without being repaired with new bearings.

Great
These training wheels are incredibly easy to install and fit a wide range of frame and wheel sizes. The construction is sturdy and the wheels are quiet on the concrete and pavement because they’re a hard rubber compound, like a big roller blade wheel.
