This treatment saved my hair
Last year, I colored my hair two toned - Brown on the top, blonde on the bottom. I have naturally dark hair so to make it blonde, I had to bleach my hair. I normally colored my hair by myself with color from Sally's (been coloring my hair for over 10 years). After several months of coloring it this way, my hair was DEAD. It literally melted if there was just a small amount of heat applied to it, even from the weather. I went to my local Paul Mitchell salon, and had my first Awapuhi treatment. After one treatment, I was sold. My hair was shiny and soft and felt so much healthier. Not only that, but the line is also a color block and prevents the color from fading quickly. Obviously after damage that bad done, I needed several treatments and to keep up on them. I still go in for monthly treatments at the salon (the full treatment, not just the conditioner) and I also bought the shampoo and intense conditioner, which I use twice a week. I thought that I would go through the product really quickly, but the great thing about this product is that you don't need a lot at all, which makes the product worth it (I bought the shampoo 4 months ago and still have not ran out). This stuff is so potent and amazing, I will never go back. It brought my hair back to life and it has never been healthier, smoother or shinier. I was using another shampoo and conditioner during the other days of the week when I didn't use the awapuhi line, but I am now purchasing the rinse conditioner and using that instead because this product is so amazing. I have only used the styling products one time, and I am even impressed with those. This is a great line, well worth the money because it lasts so long.

Major improvement in daily styling
Purchaed trial size of both shampoo and rinse. Massive lather, great clean feeling without that tangly stripped feeling when rinsing. Crème rinse is thinner than many, but using a dime size squirt was perfect for me. I usually use 2x that much conditioner, not necessary here. May be more expensive, I live how my hair feels and stayed cleaner keeping my style for 4 days! Too early to comment on hair texture or thickness change. I will continue to use this for the daily results.

Great for sulfate free
EDIT: it’s been 7 yrs and I still use this shampoo. We’ve moved to a more humid and milder winters state so static isn’t as big of an issue. I also use this on both of my daughters hair in the winter, one has super thick hair and the other really fine but both have straight hair.ORIGINAL: This shampoo is much different than I expected. I've used other sulfate free shampoos and it takes a lot to make a lather or it doesn't lather at all, which most sulfate free shampoos don't do anyways. This one does, and it takes so very little shampoo to wash my thin, fine hair. The smell is great, but some definitely won't like the ginger smell. It has also really helped reduce the static I get every winter. I wash my hair every other day and by the end of day two I have some static but I use this shampoo and the Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratin Cream Rinse and nothing else on my hair.I have two kids, one a baby that likes to eat/suck on my hair and both love to pull it, so actually styling or blow-drying my hair is pointless right now. I also don't want baby eating hairspray or anything of the like.

Love this shampoo.
From what I remember in the 70’s, it seems the fragrance was stronger. I love that it lathers. I feel my hair gets clean. I am happy to find this again. Paul Mitchell products are great.

Works well
Love this shampoo, it is a little pricey, but worth it for the change in my hair. Hair is thicker and smoother, I use their line of conditioner too. Would recommend

It's the best sulfate free shampoo I've found
It's a great product. I hope some day they can figure out a way to take the perfum out only because it's an ingredient that dries out the hair, but it smells divine. My only problem is with the product design. Once the top part is open it remains open. So if you want to take it with you on a trip or camping you're out of luck. There needs to be some kind of top or covering that prevents it from leaking. Other than that the product itself is the best I've found so far that keeps my hair healthy looking and it's sulfate free which is a major plus. I did notice that Awapuhi in the 3.4 oz size tube, which I purchased at my salon, is much more dense in composition than the 8 oz bottle but that didn't affect the outcome. I recommend this product for anyone but especially those who have sun damaged, chemically damaged or very dry and brittle hair. Awapuhi restored the luster and my hair looked thicker and all the dry ends and brittleness disappeared immediately. It's well worth the investment. Believe me I've tried a number of them looking for one that lived up to its promise.
