Great Price
This entire part is not all metal. The framework is plastic but the lever that usually breaks IS metal. This is the fourth one I have had to replace in this vehicle so I hope this one lasts. Much cheaper than going to the dealer and getting one that is probably going to break anyway. Installs like all the others. Didn't give it 5 * because I don't know how long it will last.

Has not broken yet three months later
This one has lasted three months longer than the last two (edit: Still good June 2021) I purchased and still not broke. Knock on wood. Will change my review if it does. The others didn't last more than 2-3 door openings before they broke. This was after WD-40ing the hell out of the door mechanism too. This one seems to be what it advertised, all metal. I think these doors just wear out and force needed to open them exceeds the design limits of these door handles. My truck is 18 years old so it's hard to blame the OEM version. Still, there are people on hear claiming to be selling all metal door handles and they are the same plastic OEM ones that break. Read the reviews to figure out which ones are fake. You will end up paying more, but your door will be fixed and stay fixed.

Seems good for the price
Very good fit, Pretty easy to install, but still feels a bit light.

Sonoma 3rd door handle
The handle was as expected. It has the aluminum lever handle. This is the 6th handle I have installed in 20 years, on my 1998 GMC Sonoma. The original design by GM is flawed. The two tabs on the back of the lever are too narrow and these can break off. I have had 2 of these from GMC do this with the plastic lever. On the others with metal levers the molded plastic boss that the door's rods connect to is what usually breaks off. I just installed this one so don't know yet how long it will last.

More robust and well worth the money
After the original broke and I replaced with two other $9 versions (one broke on first pull), this one has lasted. Some buyers have been put off because most of the part is plastic, and that IS so. I don't think there's one made that's ALL metal. The housing is ABS plastic just like the OEM part, but the pull handle and tab that converts pull to twist on the back (the part that broke on my earlier three) is a metal alloy (you can see the metal mold parting line, and scraping it reveals shiny metal beneath. It installed easily in less than 10 minutes.

Great purchase
Was simple to install. Unscrewed the old broken one and used a screw driver to push the two bars to release the door. Opened the door, removed the bolts for the seat belt, removed the cover, disconnected the old handle unit, screwed the new handle in place, shut the door (with the cover off still) and pulled the two threads to the extent they would reach, and clipped the connectors closed. Tried the door and it popped right open. Then just buttoned everything back together. Works great!

Not all metal
The handle is upgraded and metal. Worked better than factory. The back side of it broke today after a year.
