Great feature
The whistle is very loud, which I expected and needed. But a really good feature is the silicone band that allows me to comfortably grip the whistle with my teeth, which I frequently do.

Decent
It has a good whistle but the ball in it is very odd.

Safety
I bought these as a noise deterrent. While on an early morning walk with my 2 small dogs, a coyote stalked us. Shouting didn't work. I was concerned an air horn would be impractical so I chose these whistles. They are lightweight and very loud.

They say you need a whistle!
Bought a kayak, this is one of the necessities recommended as basic gear! It's loud, comfortably grips in the teeth, lanyard for keeping it handy. Hope there's someone around to hear it, if I my 'Titanic' goes down😁

Help
A safety whistle that’s not safe. Not sure how to square the circle on this product. So, what’s the problem? Well, the nylon lanyard is securely crimped and attached to the whistle’s eyelet. There’s no breakaway feature to the whistle meaning that if it got hooked or snagged on something, you wouldn’t be able to blow for help because it would be efficiently strangling you with its unbreakable nylon cord.Actually, once I started researching it, many survival or recreational whistle lanyards do not feature a breakaway design. I wouldn’t recommend hanging this around your neck, and instead suggest it be attached to a belt loop, wrist (like the NFL refs do) or backpack zipper. Since it’s a widespread trade design, I can’t really knock this product for that element, but I can offer that general safety caution. As far as sound, it produces a piercing, really high-pitched tone. We blew ours on a high school football field, and it was easily heard at the other end. It’s a little tinny, but it works. The tone doesn’t "hang," though, so repeated blowing was required to sustain the sound. I liked the soft-plastic mouth guard that provided extra traction for blowing. One other note, natural cork will dry out over time negatively impacting the whistle’s performance. Or repeated blowing will coat it with saliva making it mute. Go for a pea-less model.Neither toy nor tool. Three stars.

LOUD whistle, excellent repellent for pests
My mum is harrassed daily from a team of broken English speakers, claiming to be calling from Virgin Media; "Go over to your laptop, type in this..." Type of thing. They are aggressive when questioned, enraged when she dares to hang up on them. They just won't leave her alone... Well, now maybe they will. This whistle is LOUD.Rather than my mum dread answering the phone, she's now rather looking forward to her next chat with "Virgin Media"

Not very loud
Unsure if its the material they use for the ball inside the whistle, but it isnt very loud and in a gym full of volleyball players serving and bouncing the ball, its hard to get their attention without whistling multiple times
