Star Wars: A New Hope Read-Along Storybook and CD

My toddler is obsessed with Star Wars, and we got this book and audio cd to listen to in the car. I was a little worried when we ordered it that it wouldn't resonate with her because the character voices are not from the original film (although some sound spot on!). I needn't have worried, however. She loves listening to it. (We all do!) The voice actors do a terrific job, and the sound effects (including a little music from the original score) are fantastic. There are page turn indicators, so my 2 1/2-year-old can navigate the book independently from her car seat. My husband and I were a little disappointed that this version of the story does not include the big reveal when Darth Vader announces his relationship to Luke. It seems like such a classic part of the story to leave out. It really doesn't depreciate my daughter's enjoyment of the story, and that is why I am still happy to give this purchase five stars. We plan on buying the next installment soon!

My kids are loving this CD and book. We like to have books on CD in the car for the kids and this has been a nice change from Princesses for us. I do wish the story were a little longer since it only lasts about 10 minutes, but that is normal for these types of books and CDs and I don't mind listening to it a couple of times in a row. They don't have the voices of the original actors on the cd which is interesting since there are a lot of direct quotes from the movie. I assume it would have been more expensive to do that, but it is still well done.

A very detailed telling of the story. If you're wondering, they use illustrations of stills from the film, and use re-recorded audio -- including some lines that don't appear in the film. Just like the old school version on vinyl from my childhood.

My 4 year old is still getting into figuring out how to sync the CD and the book, but is overall enjoying it. As a Dad (and Star Wars fan), this was great for in the car. I know it is the perfect length for a child, but really wish it could've been longer.

I wish it had the original voices. Darth Vader voiced by anyone other than James Earl Jones seems a little odd. But it's still really good.

My 5 y.o is a star wars fanatic. And absolutely loves this read along book! It's great for him to listen to in the car during long trips and for us to read together. The great sound affects and character's real voices brings this book to life. As the Mom who has never watched the movies (gasp) it also helps me learn the story and characters too!

These books are fantastic - my 4yr old loves them.

Got this book for my 4 year old son and he loves listening to the story and following along in the book! They are great for long car trips as well!
