It's good for drawing or marking. Since it is flat lead it does not come to a point. I use it for quilting. It draws a nice straight line.

No it does not have a clutch mechanism. It has a button on the side to advance lead.

Great "shader" pencil. Several lead refills; more than I realized. Good deal.

Great for sketching or writing

I have a few of these pencils. I can write in a calligraphy style with them and also sketch with them. Broadside is good for shading and narrower side for line work. Always in my sketch kit. Lead does not break, holder is well made and it stores easily.

I bought two by accident. i wanted to practice calligraphy and these were the only flat leads i found. i've been using them, with friends, and we all love them! I'm so glad i accidentally got two!USE FOR CALLIGRAPHY- it works!! i didn't want to spend a lot and use INK, which you can't fix. these are great!
