Tiny Tool, Big Peace of Mind (and Zero Electrocutions!)
This little neon wonder is the unsung hero of my toolbox. I bought it to check if an outlet was still trying to zap me from beyond the grave before I swapped it out. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t—thanks to this handy tester and not, say, trial-and-error with a butter knife. It’s super compact — roughly the size of a suspiciously long stick of gum — so it won’t hog space or make your toolbox feel bloated. The twin probes are easy to use, even for someone like me who approaches electrical work with the grace and confidence of a nervous raccoon. It lights up if voltage is present, doesn’t if it’s not — no app, no charging, no existential questions. Just pure, neon-lit honesty. For the price, it’s a no-brainer. Unless you want to find out the hard way whether something is live. In which case, good luck and wear rubber shoes.

Nice to have
Part of my line of work. It's nice to have something very quick that can test exposed wires before I have to cross them. This works fairly quickly. Very cheap though. You can actually easily make one yourself. It's just nice
