Love it, Bought a Second One
my second one of these. been using one for a year in my bedroom on super-cold nights (i have forced air from gas-fired furnace) and humidity helps. so i bought another one for the living room.for what it costs, it's a bargain. its output is "sterile" (warm mist) and as long as i keep a clean "sleeve" on the heating element to soak up all the gunky minerals in city water, it's working great. sleeves are expensive but i bought up a huge supply a year ago and they are washable for a while...and at some point i install a new sleeve. still inexpensive considering the quality of the humidity.some have complained that the water tank doesn't always press hard enough on the little "switch" (it turns off the heating if the water tank is empty). my first one has never had that problem; this new one DOES have it, but i just applied a very unnoticeable BAND-AID to the water tank where it meets the little "switch". i don't know why the complainers haven't thought of that.some have complained that it's "noisy". oh well, it makes a little noise because it's WORKING. i find it quiet and actually kinda soothing in the bedroom...i think i sleep better.despite using sleeves, if my bedroom unit begins to fail because of mineral build-up on the heating element (yeah, heavy minerals where i live), i'll order a new one to replace it.that's my $.02 -- your mileage may vary.

Do not buy
This humidifier was a problem from day one. I bought it in October 2021.Yes, it is quiet and gives a nice level of steam but this is only when you can get it to work.Even with a full tank of water it often will not turn on. Today I've had to start by cleaning the humidifier just to be sure this was not the problem, (no luck) reposition it, to make sure it is absolutely on a flat surface, put a band aid on the shut off as some people have suggested (sometimes this works, sometimes not) made sure the floater valve was not sticking, ( still no luck) Finally I gave it a few taps on the side....and it turned on. I spent 1/2 hour to get it to work. Sometimes it worked fine for a few days but you never knew when it would stop. I kept it through the 2021 heating season and then started using it again last week November 2022. It is worse than ever. Stops 3-4 times a day for no apparent reason. Water tank full and humidity in house around 40.And for the past few days, if I don't notice that it has shut off, I can smell that something's not right. There is a plastic smell. It's driving me crazy and more importantly it is not safe. Today I took it to the dump for recycling.I would never buy this unit again.

Very Good Humidifier
Pros: Good Price... Quiet... Sturdy...Easy to fill tank...Absorption Sleeve(more on that later)...Big enough for small to medium size rooms...Built in Humidistat..Easy to clean..Cons: Finding replaceable absorption sleeves was almost impossible. The absorption sleeve is a great idea. It slides over the heating element and it makes the unit very easy to clean.. And it makes the unit much quieter than other humidifiers. Because of mineral build-up on the heating element with other humidifiers I've owned they would need to be fully cleaned after every 2-3 times of use. But with this Optimus most of the minerals builds up on the absorption sleeve, not the heating element.. I clean the sleeve every 2-3 times of use, which is a breeze. It just slides off and I clean it with running water, then slide it back on.. The heating element still needs to be fully cleaned, BUT not nearly as often as with other warm mist humidifier.. Because of the sleeve there is much less maintenance..But damn, good luck finding sleeve replacements. And they probably will need to be replaced once a year or so..Amazon doesn't have them.. Nor does Optimus. Fortunately Optimus makes the same exact humidifier for Kenmore. And of course Kenmore/Sears doesn't have them either, BUT I found the sleeves on Ebay under the Kenmore part number, NOT the Optimus part number. A 3 pack for about $10.. So I'm all set for the next few years.Anyway besides that this humidifier is top of the line. Easily worth the money.

humidifier
I feel like I read every review on every humidifiers before I ordered this one. They all had some good Feedback, and they all had a lot of Bad Feedback. I want the same thing everyone wants. One that works well for a long time with the more convenient features. Well, this one didn't seem to have any bad feedback. Although it didn't have much feedback at all so it must be relatively new to the market. I want to like it. What I do like. The water storage is a nice size. It works thru one night maybe two before refill. It's as easy and convenient to remove, refill, replace as it could possibly be. Very quiet operation with just an occasional water gurgle. I always run on maximum on speed and level. I also bought a cheap humidistat to monitor my results. I ended up moving the humidifier directly beside the head of my bed and the humidistat within 2 ft. The machine uses up the water, so it's putting it out. But I could never exceed 40% humidity on the gauge even with continuous operation. The Bad. I had to wedge a piece of plastic in the float safety switch to get the unit to even operate. The float prevents the unit from running if not level or out of water for safety. Idea is good. Operation No Good. Also used a big rubber band to hold the water tank and unit closer together so the other safety switch wouldn't prevent operation thinking water tank was removed. So....I can't recommend. I'm still trying to decide if I'm even going to keep it. But it does put the warm mist out quietly...........Update..quit working and returned it

Buy the biggest water tank warm mist humidifier that your budget allows
The Noise level is very low makes for good night sleep. Only Thing I wish is bigger water tank at least 2 more gallons in addition to 3 gallon. Also anyone buying it has to know there is sleeve bit thing that Covers the heating element so don’t throw that, I think it is the only part buy again next time after may be every season though it is hand washable and air dry.

I was hopeful, I was wrong.
I bought two of these, one for the upstairs living area and one for the main bedroom. I wanted a warm mist variety because the hard water in the area makes ultrasonic and evaporative units either coat everything in mineral deposits or have filters you have to swap out every three or four weeks. These been running for just about three weeks now.Pros:Handles at the top and bottom make filling very easy.Reservoir design makes the gurgling noise when the unit needs more water quieter.Noise level on a low setting, bedroom location, is almost like a white noise generator set on low.Cons:The safety switch for the tank doesn't always contact the tank and you have to reseat it a number of times. The tank itself doesn't always seat properly and I've found that I've had to go back and check the units a number of times to ensure that the reservoir was indeed getting water. On the high setting, living area, the unit sounds like an asthmatic child dying and is loud.I purchased extra "socks" for the heating unit. The one in the living area where the unit was set on high actually burnt the sock and mineral deposits black in spots. The humidistats are completely out of whack. I can get either relative ambient humidity, i.e. what it is outdoors, or I come home and the walls are running. I have two hygrometers and they gone as high as 85% humidity. Regardless of where the humidity controls are set it's either all in or out and they are almost impossible to turn due to how tight they are.I really don't recommend this product and will be purchasing an alternative.

Buyer Beware
I am a busy mom and don’t have time to make a review but I just want to warn my fellow buyers about this. First, when I opened the product it has scuff marks, scratches and chipped parts. I informed amazon which they sent a replacement right away. Replacement was useless, it’s the same with scuff marks and scratches. I gave up and used it. We only used our tap water, absorption sleeve was hard to clean after a week of using it with tap water and replacement costs much. It does raise our humidity level by 20 points but it is noisy. And it’s tricky to use because refill water signal lights even though we just filled the water chamber full! You have to lift it again and again (the water chamber) until the machine recognizes that you put in a full chamber. Even though you put the chamber well to the base the water refill light is still lit and it won’t start your humidifier. I have wasted $100 plus for this! Not worth at all. I needed a bigger size vaporizer that’s I bought this but I should have stayed with my vicks vaporizer and used 2 of it in our bedroom instead of this. Noise level is a hit or miss on this, sometimes it’s quiet and sometimes no. Only 9 days of owning this and I am not really happy at all with this. I should have stayed with well known brands such as vicks or honeywell if only they have the bigger water chamber available.
