Best mat
I’ve owned a Manduka Pro Lite for years and it’s still in perfect condition, hands down the best mat I’ve ever used. That kind of durability is rare. I picked up a second one specifically for studio practice, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s impressively lightweight while still being thick, supportive, and super comfortable for every pose. Sleek look, outstanding performance, and built to last. Definitely worth the money. Five stars for design, function, and durability - Manduka absolutely delivers.

Amazing Mat! Just a little salty...
Amazing, amazing, amazing!! I have heard such great things about Manduka yoga mats, that when my company said they would reimburse employees for fitness equipment, my first thought was to get one of these babies! I chose the 71" Midnight Blue Manduka Pro Lite honestly just because it was within the reimbursement budget, but also because it is a great color. I love how it is made from recycled materials and champions an eco-friendly lifestyle. It is a great width and weight, and nice and grippy! In terms of use, I sweat a lot, and when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. This does a really good job of preventing slip, but also at a certain point, no mat will ever stop someone who is straight up liquid, so be realistic with your expectations (i.e. I still find it slips sometimes). Also note that I tend to use my mat on carpet, and if you were to use it on hard flooring, the mat would be even grippier and I don't think I would have issues slipping at all! On maintenance - Manduka recommends you sprinkle a bunch of salt on your mat when you first get it to help "break it in." Who was I to question the natural and earthy powers of the great salt break in??? Who was I to place myself above the experts of Manduka????? I decided to heed their advice. With all the passion and excitement of unleashing my mat's true potential, I shook shook shook my salt shaker above its gleaming surface. I patiently waited, attune to my mat's needs. After 24 hours passed, I returned to my mat, ready to welcome it into its new form. But wait - I encountered a dilemma. How exactly, were I to lift this 71" rubber serpent from the ground?? How were I to safely deposit those millions of shaken salt crystals from my mat's plane??? Now let us pause and note that this would not have been as arduous of a task if I had not decided to complete the great salt shake in my carpeted bedroom. Alas, my decision had already been made, my ship set on its course. With all the great balance and coordination of an amateur yoga practitioner, I raised the sides of my mat, dragging it to my bathroom. Allthewhile, I sensed myself losing thousands of salt crystal souls on the way. After patiently attempting to contain the briny gems, I finally heaved my rubber flag over the bathtub and shook shook shook as best I could, to remove the salty deposits. Yet again, I found myself tormented. This mat is praised for its grip, its hold, its strength. And so the salt remained. Defeated, I climbed into the bathtub, swallowed my pride, and brushed each individual crystal from my mat's surface. To this day, I still find memories of the past clinging to my mat - small sodium chloride diamond reminders of heroes come and gone. So overall, I think you could probably break this in without having to salt it, unless you really really wanted to. Awesome addition to any exercise routine!!

Great mat but with a labor of love to break it in.
This is a great yoga mat (Pro Lite), it is well worth the money if you can put the hours on the mat with some time to "season" it. As you unroll it, you will need to rub it with coarse sea salt and let it sit for 24 hours on a hard flat surface and / or let it sit in the sun for a few hours, according to the Manduka website. This mat is VERY slippery upon first unroll but after season, it got a little better and is continuing to get better over time. My yoga teacher has had hers for nearly a decade and hers is still in amazing condition with even better grip. In the photos, you can see my older Natural Tree Rubber Mat from Manduka laid on top of the pro lite and it was a normal yoga mat size. I am not a tall person by any means (about 5’ 10”) but I had to be exactly in place or my head/feet would be hanging off. This new Pro Lite (which you can see underneath) is significantly longer without taking up my whole room. I honestly don't think I would need anything longer or wider, not for the substantial price jump at least. I love this mat because it doesn't make my hands smell like that weird rubber glove smell like my old one did. This mat doesn't move on the floor thanks to the circled grips on the bottom. My favorite aspect of this mat is because it is closed cell technology which means dog hair splinters and other fibers don't get stuck inside the mat and poke you in the back during savasana or other floor poses. I would recommend using Manduka brand cleaning spray after use to maintain the integrity of the mat. I have been a Manduka fan for a long time and this was a great addition. TL:DR This is a great mat that will last you forever IF you practice on it a lot or season it with salt scrub.

Excellent durable and easy to clean mat
Excellent top quality yoga mat. I bought this mat because I needed something more durable and something that won’t absorb sweat and is easy to clean (note the closed-cell construction). I compared this with the Manduka PRO yoga mat (the is the PROlite version) and I like this because it’s a bit lighter and slightly smaller and easy to carry to class. It has a lifetime guarantee and I can see why. The material is not cheap foamy material. I don’t know if it’s rubber, but it feels like thick rubber sort of. I plan to use and keep this for a long time. Good investment! Worth the extra money!!!

Excellent mats
Wanted to get a mat that was not slippery,,, instructions were to salt the mat for 24 hours (you tube) I even rubbed the front and back areas (hands and feet) extra. did not seem to work, how ever have only used it 3 times. right now using my whole mat towel to cover until I work it in more, I have some yoga towels and may use them in the foot and hand areas. Mat is very solid and feels great at only 4mm. Very comfortable. So far so good. will update review after using the mat more. Update 12/22,,, I purchased some yoga towels 1x27 to use at the front and back of mat,, wet them down a little. They work great so far, and hold on the mat very good, do become a little crumpled while I am doing other poses. Wanted to try these instead of a full towel covering. Will update in a couple of weeks. UPDATE 1/11/23 Final Review. After one year mat is in great shape, of course I take care of it. I clean it when I get home. Is it non slip,, some what,, If your doing a regular, easy class medium poses, you can hold all your poses without a problem. If your getting into an advanced class and start sweating, yes you will slip.. I do hot yoga once a week and cover the mat with whole mat towel,( the half towels I tried did not work) works great. Additionally if I I go to a advanced class and know I'm going to sweat I bring the whole mat towel I clean the mat every time after use, let it air dry, then NOTE!!!!! reverse roll the mat, keeps it nice and flat when you lay it out. So bottom line I love this mat, worth the money I spent, I do take care of it and put some effort into taking care of it. It is some what of hassle having to use mat towels, but they are easy to clean in the wash..

Worth the price - a little different..
Been using this mat exclusively and daily for about 6mos. A different design than the usual yoga mat. Very dense with excellent grip. Cushions firmly without being too soft. Very sturdy and heavier than other mats - a much appreciated feature. No residual smell. Cleans very easily. A bit more expensive but after using it, I find it worth the price. I anticipate it will last a long time.

Great mat after you sub the film off
This mat was definitely very slippery at first, I don't recommend using it before breaking down the film unless you enjoy feeling like you're doing yoga on ice! But after I got the film off, this mat became amazing! Its grippy, sturdy, padded, and I just love how it rolls flat immediately when you lay it on the ground, no curls at the ends. The following was how I removed the slippery film... 1. I poured a medium layer of eom salts ALL over the mat 2. I poured a thin layer of baking soda ALL over the mat (on top of the salt) 3. I soaked a sponge and squeezed it to cover the mat with water (repeat as often as needed to make a thick mixture) 4. I took a new "Scotch Brite" sponge and used the course side to scrub in a circular motion (starting at one end of the mat and slowly making my way to the other). I went over my mat 5 times in total (took about an hour) 5. I rinsed the mat off in very hot water in the shower and laid it out to dry (sun is best) 6. I read that dry heat helps to break down the film and since it is currently winter here in Colorado, laying the mat outside in the sun was not an option, so I got creative with my space heater and positioned my mat in such a way that the heater would blow hot air directly on the mat for 40 minutes per side. My next use of the mat was a completely different experience. It really is a great mat, although for the price, it really should come pre-scrubbed!

Great Mat, Durable and grippy
I got this last September after practicing Yoga for 20+ years. I wanted a real yoga mat for my Yoga teacher certification course. Only funky thing was that you had to salt the mat, rub it in and leave it to "cure" for 24hrs and wipe with a damp cloth, and I didn't realize that so it wasn't ready to use it on my first day of training. After that salting though it's by far the best mat I've had. I've grown to appreciate firmer mat as I advance my study and this one is nice. Even though it's on thin side it offers all the cushioning. It weighs way more than typical mats but is much lighter than Manduka PRO so it's easier to carry around. I did have to get a different heftier carrying case but that was to be expected. I do not have slipping problem on this mat at all. I used Himalayan pink salt form Costco I have for cooking which is pulverized to fine powder that comes in a huge tub and is very cheap - using that fine powder form may have saved me a lot of rubbing and scrubbing. Also make sure you don't over saturate with water and "wash off" the salt. Salt water is naturally sticky on skin so I think you want the strong salt water solution to cover the mat, at least that's what I thought I was doing with the salt anyway - and it worked for me. Hope this helps.

Saludos!

Quality Yoga Mat
This Yoga Mat brand speaks for itself. Get this mat after several reviews and I wanted the longer version as I'm above 180cm. At the beginning, was skeptical about the slippery surface and boy it was really slipper when i first unpacked it. Just follow Manduka guideline on how to break in the mat and after the first try it sticky with a good grip. Its a life time investment and its a good buy. Also the one I got was made in Germany.

Eccellente
