California Costumes Men's Shepherd's Staff

I wasn’t expecting much from this after reading the reviews, but there weren’t many options so we ended up going with this one. It is super easy to put together very nice and tall and looks awesome. It doesn’t seem super sturdy so I’m weary to put much weight against it but as far as looks it is pretty cool. I’m very excited about this!

Worked great

We bought this for my 12 year-old "Jack Frost" custom. It looks great, size and shape are perfect. You do have to take in account that it is made of plastic and comes in 3 parts that kind of screw into each other. In our case, 4 minutes of using it to pose for pictures, one of the unions broke! My brother is great at fixing stuff, so he cut off a little piece, inserted a PVC tube he had left from another project and glued the pieces together using an epoxy kind of cement. Now it is much more resistant and will last for several Halloweens for sure. I have seen in other people's comments that it does tend to break in the union, so take that in account before buying.

Used it as a base for my ren faire staff. It is good for visual but it is plastic. It isn't very sturdy. By the end of the day it started to bend

This thing is the same height as me 5'0" and the best part is that you can adjust it if you want to.

We got this staff so my son could play Jack Frost (his new hero). I used metallic paint to accent the lines, making it look as though blue frost was being distributed. It's almost a dead ringer to those staffs that are going for so much more. It is plastic and comes in three parts that you just insert into one another. My son is very tough on everything and broke one section while playing. I just inserted a bamboo garden pole to keep the different sections together and it is now (pretty) indestructible.

Anytime you order this product it is apparently a 50/50 if you will receive a staff that has internal support and looks consistent throughout, or if you will receive what I received. A staff made out of cheap plastic with no internal plastic or other support, and exposed screw grooves on the outside that make it a horrible cosplay or costume addition. The screw grooves make it painfully obvious that it is poorly made and will break with the lightest tap. Additionally, it comes with a warning in the bag (not useful if it isn't on the product page) that "Actual product may differ from image due to manufacturing variants" so the seller is well aware of the issue and is doing nothing to fix it.
