Decent value drive!
Never have bought a refurbished drive before, but have dealt with my fair share of RMA'd drives that have Recertified engraved on them. Figured I would take a chance on these drives and the seller.Ordered 3 drives, and have ran all 3 through HDAT, a Short Self Test, and then the Long Self Test. All 3 passed, however, one drive does have a SMART error for pending sector count, but, it does pass all tests perfectly fine. All three drives have "Recertified" engraved on the side, and the label on 2 say it, but the one that has the pending sector count error in SMART doesn't have the label saying recertified. Makes me wonder a little bit about that drive.Threw all 3 into a RAID5 array on an M5015 RAID controller with a 256KB stripe and ran a few benchmarks. I can sustain ~250MB/s writes, and see ~380MB/s reads. Excellent performance. As for longevity, that is up in the air, refurbisher claims a three year warranty, but, to me, they are an unknown company, though they have done an absolute amazing job.All the drives came spotless, no finger print smudges, no dust anywhere. These looked like legitimate brand new drives, or re-certified drives from the actual manufacture.I will update this review once I get the array filled, and run an SHA256 checksum compare on the data. That will be the true test as far as I am concerned.

Server Grade Quality you can use with your NAS. Comes with fantastic Warranty.
Typically I'm pretty reserved when it comes to purchasing Hard Drives online, and even more when they are refurbished. I took a chance on these drives given the high quality and reliability of HGST. The seller backs up their drives with a 3yr warranty, which is incredible. They came packaged very well and the shipping was very quick. Each drive comes certified refurbished to original quality, and they came vacuumed sealed. For the price and quality I took a chance, so far so good! The peace of mind was the warranty and with multiple drives my data in a RAID Array can withstand a faulty drive if it happens. I looked for hours for the right drives and a great price point and these drives checked all the boxes.Pros: Price, Enterprise Drives (Quality), Speed at 7200rpm, 128mb Cache, 3yr Warranty!Cons: I hate to really put a con out there, but if there is a con with these drives, it would be noise under heavy loads. They do spin faster and when working hard they do have audible read-write noise. This may only be an issue if you have your Home Server (NAS) in a main living area. I do happen to have mine in a main living area, but the noise level under low to moderate use is minimal. I mainly use my NAS for media and some work projects with continuous backup. Conclusion: If you're willing to take a chance you'll most likely be impressed with the high quality and the value given the price. I was willing to take the chance and all has worked out. I've had brand new hard drives delivered that were DOA, as with any mechanical drive, it's always a risk. Thanks for the read, and hope if you do purchase, you have the same experience as I have thus far!

These are perfect and very high performing
These HGST drives are perfect for any use. I bought two of these for my home NAS unit. Works perfectly. These are factory refurbished with no bad sectors and no signs of use. In fact, the drives look as good as new. I am an IT Technology Consultant and know the value of HGST drives very well. I was lucky I stumbled upon these drives on Amazon while considering new Seagate/WD drives. I immediately ordered these from USA and waited patiently for their arrival in Dubai. They arrived nicely packaged, in sealed anti-static bags that put a big smile on me. I have set them up in my NAS as RAID1 drives. Looking forward to years of longevity, hopefully.

Best bang for the buck for bulk storage.
I use these drives to store my movie collection. So far I've not had one fail. I have slowly rotated my old drives and replaced them with these drives. Currently, I have 18 drives and have replaced 10 with HGST 4TB drives. Great value as these are enterprise drives and have one of the lowest failure rates available. I've lost Western Digital Drives, Seagate Drive, and others but as of this date, I have never had an HGST drive suddenly fail on me. At his time the 4 TB drive is the best TB/$ deal around.

Factory (re-certified) fresh!
Ordered five of these drives for a new RAID array. Performed SMART testing on each before use. All SMART counters zeroed upon receipt. All drives passed extensive testing prior to being put in service. Excellent value for enterprise quality!

Loud Click of Death on Arrival
I had high hopes for this drive. I formatted the drive and then did a surface scan. The drive started this very loud "jerking" click of death. Like the actuator was just slamming against something inside. This was at idle with no information on the drive yet. Hesitant to buy another, May buy a new product, not HGST.
