This stuff is addictive!
LOVE Stonewall jurquee! Great alternative for vegetarians, vegans, and anyone looking for a cruelty-free jerky-like snack. (Love the "wild" flavor, too, but sometimes it's just a bit too wild for my digestive system - darn!)

Give it a try!
Vegetarian jerky is highly polarizing...some think it tastes like dog food, others love it. And there are sooo many different styles/types/textures. The first time I tried it, I almost gagged. I really like VeganDream jerky - a chewy, very dehydrated texture - and this was very different. It's slightly moist, a little oily, and pretty chewy. I couldn't bear to throw away $30 of veggie jerky, though, so after a few days I opened another package and tried it again. I loved it. I don't know what happened in the mean time, but on my second package I found the chewy texture to be perfect - not too dry, not too moist - the slight oiliness added a very rich feel as I was eating it, and the spice mixture was really delicious. It took a couple tries, but this is now one of my top 3 veggie jerkies! Each package is really quite large, so sometimes I would eat half and leave the other half for the next day. If you're less thrilled with the moistness of the little nuggets, try leaving the package open overnight. It dehydrates a little bit without getting stale.

Genuinely cannot believe the amount of positive reviews
This tastes like the smell of dog food. The texture is there but the flavor and smell is so bad I had to check that they weren't expired because it seemed rotten. I am by no means a picky eater at all but this was so bad I had to take the time to warn others. Also, over 50 dollars for 12 packets the size of a package of gum is unreal for it to not be amazing. Only buy if you love wasting money and get hungry giving your dog their kibble. 0/10.

its....interesting
i read all the reviews before i bought this, and thinking "oh! i like spicy" i bought wild. and yes, it is very spicy. good spicy, but spicy.and i will say, my first bite, i didn't really like it. at all. i was almost kind of a weird texture. airy but chewy at the same time. not awful, but not amazing. i wasn't really sold on it, but i had 4 boxes of the stuff...but then i reread the reviews. and one of them mentioned microwaving it. and by golly, that gives it an AMAZING texture. its crispy, and just delcious. my coworker said it smelled bad, but i personally didn't notice it. but seriously, MICROWAVE IT.

My Fave Veg Jerky
The "Original Wild" is a bit spicy for me, but "Original Mild" is spectacular, and Teriyaki Beef even better. Also like the spicy chicken one. I've tried all the veg jerky products and bewildered that none of the others come even close to this one for quality of flavor and texture. The others are loaded with sugar and taste more like candy than jerky; a couple of them are outright slimy; one was hard as a rock and flavorless. But the only time Stonewall's Jerquee ever displeased me was when the Poulsbo Market used a paper-punch to create holes along the top edge and hung them on a peg to dry out -- which I didn't realize until I got them home and they'd all been turned into hard lumps (which I ate any way). So now I have to buy them on amazon. I'll still get the fresh sushi at Poulsbo Market, that stuff's a dream, but what possessed them to poke holes in packaged foods???

Crazy Jerky
Ok, to preface this, I AM A VEGETARIAN. With that being said, I haven't had REAL beef or turkey jerky in quite some time and I have been missing it dearly. Having tried many vegetarian jerkies I can honestly say that this is by far the best! Most soy based jerkies are strangely on the oily side and the flavors are usually off. Being a "dry style" jerky fan I am pleased with the chewiness of Stonewall's and the WILD flavor. I have tried most of the other varieties of Stonewall's but none seemed to please me as much as the WILD. I'm also on Weight Watchers and have found that they are fairly low on points (4pts per bag) and are a great source of protein for vegetarians (14g). Be warned, the WILD is quite WILD, spicy spicy but in a good way!

Uniquely Addictive
My hubbie pressed this product on me. The first time I tasted it, I did not like it. But it grew on me and now I really like it. Then it disappeared from our food coop and I could not find it anywhere. So glad to find it on line! It's not at all like meat jerky - it's chewy and spongy. The "wild" flavor leaves a pleasant peppery glow. Great hiking food.Package arrived quickly and well-packed.
