Works perfectly. Didn't need to replace the hard to get $290 drain assembly (Maytag MHW7000XG1)
The appliance repair shop said that we had to replace the entire drain assembly, which is around $290 (parts only) and was back ordered. Some material had gotten through the filter and jammed the impeller. After taking the pump assembly apart is was clear that the only parts that would usually need to be replaced would be the motor/impeller unit and not the entire pump assembly. The description says "valve" but the part number precisely matches the part that I wanted to replace. It is in fact an entirely new pump motor, shaft, gasket, and impeller all assembled and ready to place onto the drain assembly. Replacing the motor/impeller itself is extremely quick and easy but depending on the model of washer, getting to it can be difficult and time consuming. The drain assembly includes a filter with cleanout that should be cleaned fairly regularly but my model of washer gives absolutely no way to access the cleanout without completely disassembling the washer. This is a terrible design flaw (here is looking at YOU Maytag!)If you have the model of washer where there is a separate kick-plate at the bottom front of the washer this will be a 1/2 hour or so job. If you have the fancy model (MHW7000xxx) then the entire outer case including the door and front panel needs to be removed. Getting the drum/door gasket on and off is an absolute nightmare and often causes leaks so I came up with a different plan... I removed the top, the control panel, then the front leaving the gasket and door on. I removed the detergent filler hose, light, and door lock mechanisms from the front and from the gaskets. I tilted the machine back by setting the front legs up on books. This let me pull the front far enough out for me to get the two hoses and electrical disconnected from the drain pump assembly by sticking my arms in between the sides/bottom and front. I removed the drain pump assembly, cleaned it and swapped out the pump motor. I then put it back in and hooked everything back up. This allowed me to keep the factory seals on the door/drum gaskets. It look me a long time to figure out what I needed to do but if I were to have to do it again I would guess that the job would take about and hour and a half of actual work.

Wirlpool Duet Washer Model WFW94HEXW0
Great price. Same electrical connection, new seal included. You have to re-use the screws from the old motor (duh). Now my washer drains lickety split. The fact that wirlpool designed this thing so you have to pull off the whole front of the Washer to access the pump and clean out is a whole different issue.
