Perfect gift for the holidays
This book is perfect for beginners. I got going right away. A long way to go but gives something very tangible and confidence boosting. Will update further as I go progress more through there exercises. New book arrived a bit bent, nothing too bad.

Few sentences, not much instructions.
The book isn't bad. I got it thinking it would contain more valuable info like how to complete all of the drawings in it. Instead most of the drawings have 2-4 sentences attached to them about a small detail for each image. Which is helpful, but there could be more to it. Despite listing tree construction in it, theres maybe 6 sentences on making branches for trees. The book brings up some good points on composition, I will give it credit for that, but I think overall there are better books out there.

Incomplete
The book seemed to not have much if any instruction or explanations. It does have a lot of pictures and it concentrates more on structures than landscape or scenic views. I did pick up a few ideas but not much. It is still worth its price for the few things I did get from it. I just ordered another book by the same author, "Landscape Drawing in Pencil". Information to do with landscape pencil drawing is rather scarce.

Very Nice Book for pencil drawing. The book elaborates about pencil drawing techniques with examples.

Cliched images in a less than inspiring technique. The monotony of pencil marks is most disappointing making the images boring and tedious, you'll find nothing approaching a wow factor. Just because the book was published in the 1930's don't expect the images to approach the skill and artful eloquence of Norman Rockwell. This stuff is BLAND Save your money, you'd get a better deal if you spent your cash on US 'Drawing" magazine.
