Very Informative
My company recently migrated to Azure Sql Database from sql server. Gives a good in-depth description of the cloud's hosting features and benefits.

Broad coverage and still relevant in 2021
This book covers a broad range of Azure data engineering technologies at a high level. The first five chapters (covering SQL DW, Data Factory, and Data Lake) were useful. I didn't get as much out of the final four chapters (covering data contracts, logging, scripting, and Power BI). This book is a little over a year old at the time of this review (August 2021) and it's still relevant, but there are newer Azure data engineering books which I prefer over this one.

Nicely done
In October 2020, if you search Amazon for books about Azure Data Factory, the following four titles come out at the top."Quick Start Guide to Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Server, and Azure Data Warehouse" by Beckner, De|G Press, Dec 2018, £20"Hands-On Data Warehousing with Azure Data Factory: ETL techniques to load and transform data from various sources, both on-premises and on cloud" by Cote, Gitzait and Ciaburro, Packt, May 2018, £33"Understanding Azure Data Factory: Operationalizing Big Data and Advanced Analytics Solutions" by Rawat, Packt, Dec 2018, £20"The Modern Data Warehouse in Azure: Building with Speed and Agility on Microsoft's Cloud Platform" by How, June 2020, £24I have skimmed all four, and feel comfortable dismissing the first three as sketchy, shallow tutorials covering ADF and related Azure technologies - best replaced with Microsoft documentation and free online resources. How’s book, however, is a not a digest of the doc, but an original, intelligent, introductory narrative that will be useful to a data architect considering on-perm-to-cloud migration of his/her (relational) data estate. I see a couple of other books on the subject of “modern data warehouse in Azure” - one by Altalar et al, and another by Tejada - and I think I need to check those out before “finalizing” my rating of How’s book, but for now, I will give five stars.
