When they graduated at 3 yo I gave them one as a "Moving-On Birthday gift. This encouraged small motor, hand/eye coordination and talking. I set up as going to the movies and the family and I even had snacks. The child would show pictures, controlling the flow and would describe or say what the picture said/meant to them. Later, some families had family night at the movies, starring their little ones. This taught them to get 'dressed' for the special ocassion and gave the child confidence. There are a host of ways this was used and I knew that 3 yo was ready to tackle school better with all the intervention ideas we taught. My own Grandchildren loved them as well. All the kids, great nieces/nephews cousins got one of these from us. Can not tell you how many Show/Tell projects received top grades using this. I remembered as a child the older Viewmasters and how you had to hold it up to the light and manuver the lever to move the pictures. Well, it has evolved and it is so much more. This projector can use the older/20 years ago reels too. Really had a blast when grandma brought out the reels she saved from when the parents were kids. It was wonderful. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fisher-Price View - Master Discovery Learning Sounds Projjector *by L***R on February 9, 2014* My grandsons loved this. Each of the younger ones got one for Christmas. They had gotten collapsible tents too. So, they disappeared into their respective tents to play with them for long periods of time. We always knew where they were quietly playing. The projectors rotate straight up to display on the ceiling too. You only get three picture reels that emit really low-toned, brief sounds. Other reels are hard too find and are expensive. However, regular reels work in them. They are sturdy and colorful. They can be quite pricey, if you don't shop around. The boys like them so, I love them! Delivery was fast and packaging wa secure. ### ⭐ Not what I expected *by N***A on April 2, 2013* Purchased the View Master for a project for some elderly residents at a nursing home. I was planning on doing a group with the View Master, but that became impossible because the View Master has to be very close to surface to get a clear picture and not all would see it. The closer the View Master is to the wall the picture is clear but very small , and the far away it is the picture is very blurry and hard to see the details of the picture.
