Surprisingly great and super quiet.
Product arrived somewhat abused. Either at the manufacturer or during shipping or both. I was worried it wouldn’t work right because the panel frame was bent and the panel would not raise out of the frame like it was supposed to with out correcting the area where the frame was bent and screws were askew. The panel also had scratches and the frame had areas where the paint was chipped and scratched. However, it works just fine. In fact we made a wood panel to screw the fan to and metal taped around the edges. It’s so quiet! The solar panel/frame is faced more for the afternoon sun, but still runs the fan as early as 11am mid summer in Sacramento. So it starts early and runs to sunset quietly. It started just after install while my husband was in the attic and he said he could feel the air movement as he was exiting the attic. So while I think the manufacturer could pack the product better (and probably treat their products while stored better) it is working great and that counts more than the scratches and dings. I figure the panel will be treated worse by the sun and rain.

Cools the attic, saves money on electricity. easy install
Love this fan and connecting solar panel. We bought it to put on the gable end of our home. Also purchased a self closing vent from home depot. the fan is quiet and comes on when the attic gets to 96 degrees. After putting insulation in our attic, we noticed the house wasn't getting any cooler. Our attic was holding a lot of heat. To install, we ran the solar cable out of the roof through and existing roof vent. Fan kit was easy to assemble and install. we also made a mounting frame out of plywood. Cut a circle in the middle. Framed in the wall studs after cutting hole in the house. the fan is small and light weight. works exactly as described in the product details. We can already tell the attic is staying cooler. Which means our central air doesn't come on as much and the house stays cooler.

inexpnsive equipment and easy to install
This product does exactly what it states. It was very reasonable and was very easy to install. It does move air in the attic and seems to be keeper our upstairs area a bit cooler. The fan seems to run a bit slower then I expected, but maybe I just need to adjust the solar panel angle to gather more sunlight? Very happy with my purchase.

Great for the PRICE
For around $100, one cannot find anything cheaper for solar attic fan. Others with nicer weather-resistant surface mounted fans cost at lease $200+ (eg Sunforce 81130). First of all, it's power is no where near 1275 CFM as advertised. The fan panel is assembled from four 120mm 12v dc computer case fan. Just like others' review said, as 1275 divided by 4, it's still no 320cfm output. Also factor in for the 20 watt solar panel, each fan only got 5-watt power. Most 120mm fan on market only pushes 50-100 CFM for those power range. On the other hand, it is quiet since the low speed fans. My desktop computer makes more noise than this attic fan.One less star for poor workmanship.

Can't beat the price
I was leary at first, but it was easy to install in my Manufactured home since I had no attic access and only 1/3 on my house actually has an attic. It works great and really makes a difference in how hot my house gets in the summer.Didn't have much for installation instructions, but it's easy to figure out and the wire connections well the reviews were right they are kind of cheesey but easy to fix when your installing. All in all I'd say it's great for the money and if you have any common sence at all you can install it. I'm completely satisfied with this Attic fan and the best part is it's not costing me a thing to run. The warranty is for 5 years so I don't think you can beat the price anywhere else trust me I looked. I think you get alot for your money

Very poor assembly, didn't work out the box, the product functions well after repair
My garage gets very hot all year round, I got this soalr vent in hopes of reducing the temp. the shipping was a little slow, but not bad, and the product was packages well. Upon opening the box there was a single sheet of paper describing how one should go look online for some install videos and gave you some key words for a search. When I removed the product from the packaging and tested it before installing it I noticed it was not working. As I stared to inspect it I realized the problem was two fold,1. the crimping was very poor in one case the connector was crimped without the wire in the connector.2.All of the wire insulation had been sliced when someone removed the outer sheath, one so deep that it cut all but two of the conductors, and the soldering looks like a 5 year old did the work. The materials are ok, but the workmanship was piss poor.I needed this installed and was able to repair the unit. It is installed now and running well.I would avoid this unless you are comfortable repairing it before you install it. I would have been much more upset had I not discovered this until it was installed on the roof and making to electrical connections

This came with a broken wire coming out of the fan housing but we wrote the manufacturer and they made it right in a week we had a new motor to replace the broken one. This fan seems to work well so far. We have been using it about a month now. When we first got it we tightened up all the screws which a lot of people had commented on. A lot easier to do it on installation then later.

Easy installation, fan started turning as soon as the solar cell was hit by sun light. I removed the temp snap switch for my application, I'm pushing air into my attic space instead of pulling and it made more sense for me to have the fan running as long as the sun is out. Why four stars? Air flow not strong enough, if you want to go fully solar you will need more than one fan and perhaps stronger as well.
