Super Easy To Setup, Once You Figure It Out.
You will see good and bad reviews for this item. It is not a bad product, just misunderstood. The instructions included could be a lot better, and the sensor does NOT come with a cord. Mine had a 230v sticker on it as well, which led to more confusion, and i ordered a 110 to 220 converter as well (it was not needed). I attched a cord as seen in the pics. When you plug it into the wall, the led blinks 2 times and does not stay lit (its not supposed to stay lit). The absolute simplest way to program the sensor to the motor for me was as follows. 1. Have your remote for the motor handy, take off back cover. 2. Extend the awning a bit or all the way with the remote, it dose not matter how far. 3. Unplug awning for at least 10 seconds. 4. Plug in motor and sensor into 110 connection, you will hear a beep from the motor and sensor led will blink twice. 5. Within 6 seconds of the beep click program button on the remote two times. You will hear a beep confirmation. 6. Click the program button on the sensor, you will hear a beep. Its done. 7. To confirm the programing, click up button on sensor and awning will roll back. You should program the sensor to the motor first and then mount it. Thank you Aleko for the quick shipping and quickly answering my questions.

See Directions Above- From Manual
I am rating 4 stars because setting up the sensor is finicky and I had to call for help and download better directions. However, Customer service and tech support were very responsive and effective. My system is all set up and I love my awning. It is just beautiful and nicely made.

Works with 2018 Advaning Classic Series!!! 2018
We installed an Advaning Classic motorized awning in 2018. I have spent years looking for a wind sensor to close my awning should the wind pickup. No luck until now,,, The Aleko pairs easily with my existing remote.

Cheap plastic and hard to hook it up
Doesn’t come with a cord. When we finally found a solution, and tried it, the 30 day return window closed.

Aleko Wind-Sun Sensor for Retractable Patio Awning
Excellent product! We ordered the retractable (motorized) awning from Aleko. Then decided we wanted to order the Wind-Sun Sensor which will close the Awning if winds are too high and open to provide shade from the sun. The shipping time was quicker through Amazon but, priced the same. The Aleko products are priced very well. The quality of their items are excellent. The directions assumes that the installer is mechanically inclined based on some reviews I have read related to lack of directions for installation. However, we found that it was not a complex install for the awning and/or Wind-Sun Sensor.

not as advertised
Instructions are complete garbage, finally got it to sink with my remote by doing the exact opposite of what it says to do. Wind will make it go up but the dawn to dusk feature does not work.

Glad I decided to buy it
This gadget was the best accessories to buy to go with my awning! Love that just in case I forget to bring it in, it will retract automatically if it detects win over a certain mile per hour, you choose.

Easy to install, moderate programming task! Got mine working!
It is working! The installation of the AWSS is an ease but the programming instruction is not so clear, It is just a fade printed illustration instruction. The AWSS came bare with no cord, so you will need a 2 wires cord to plug in the 110V. power. I am able to programmed the AWSS to works together with the handheld remote. •program your remote that came with the motorized awning first. • open the back of your remote, plug in your AWSS. Open your awning with your remote , once the awning starting to open, press programming button on your remote two times, the awning with pause •immediately press the program button on AWSS, •then press programming button on your remote two times, the motor will beep a few times, if you didn’t here a few beeps, then press the programming button once more on the AWSS then two times on the remote. Once you hear a few beeps, You are done. You may have to kept doing this a few times, I have to alternately press the programming button couple of times. To test the AWSS, press the upward button once and the awning should close. Now both your handheld remote and AWSS are working together. Adjust the wind and light grade per your preference.

Works great when windy to close. Cut off female side of appropriate length extension cord & wire in to sensor.

Instructions for programming connection to remote need more detail. Wind sensor works as required. Sun sensor for re-opening awning can be bypassed, so worked as desired.

I don’t know if the product works quite yet because it hasn’t been windy or very sunny yet the only issue is the instructions very vague and they’re printed on a very small piece of paper and I didn’t see anything online to set the unit up with the remote control this particular one uses 110 V it would be better if it was battery-operated that way you don’t have to run A cable to a power supply

Showed up pretty quickly. No reasonable instructions. We can't hook it up. We just threw money away.
