Short term high cost, long term no hassle
Like some other reviewers, I never thought I'd be reviewing a bin but....I gave in and splurged out on an expensive bin for the kitchen, the place where a bin gets used most often.I have an engineering background so understood better design, engineering and materials cost more but was always reluctant for a bin of such expense until I had enough of buy cheaper to medium priced ones that would last around a year or two, that would start fail before that and basically I'd keep using them whilst broken or misfunctioning with sheer frustration but not this time. Many of the people I knew either had Brabantia, which can cost a lot too, of good quality but I didn't like the designs and function, it didnt work for me but I knew why they cost so much. They worked, worked well.I wanted function and form and this model fits perfectly, literally. I wanted a rectangular to square shape as it's more efficient and would fit better under our kitchen space, under the countertop space.Had to be foot operated, which I see as more hygienic and functional when both hands are full. The wide foot pedal is a delight, doesn't require too much pressure and the soft close is great, altogether a different mechanism to all the pedal bins I've had (several in a few years). The weight, although slighly light with a slight wobble at first, it doesnt slide about on the quarry tiled floor as the rubber feeted base grips and over time when it stats to fill up theres no wobble at all.The design is classy and chic, with a nice matt sheen, quality stainless steel body and truly fits the part.I'm not going to say it's life changing but I feel assured it will last several years easily, with the company standing behind it with a 10 year guarantee, that to me is worth the cost in the grand scheme of things.Enough said.

Perfecto!!!
I initially thought this expensive item was overhyped, but once it arrived, and we unboxed and started using it, I was genuinely impressed. It’s an amazing, high-quality product. The material is excellent, though fingerprints are noticeable up close on the bin. The capacity is just right. The bin requires special-sized liners, which I hoped would be cheaper, but considering their quality, they’re decent—not top-notch, but good enough. I found it more affordable to buy the liners on Amazon than on the brand’s website. We also purchased the caddy bin, which blends perfectly with it. I’ll share another review after a year if anything comes up, but for now, no complaints.

Great bin
Bought this bin plus the composter caddy that fits to the side. Expensive for a bin but it does look great in the kitchen. So if you need to have your bin somewhere visible to everyone, it is worth the outlay. Feels like it will last forever as well. You can setup a subscription service with simplehuman for bin bags, recycling bags and compostable bags, plus the scented odour removers.

So far so good!
The bin seems to be very sturdy and well made (you would expect it to be for this price) and we are very happy with it. The foot pedal isn't as ergonomic as our previous Simple Human bin, but that's such a small thing I'm still giving it 5 stars.

Stylish & Smart Recycling Bin — Almost Perfect
Why I Bought ItMy kitchen was getting cluttered with separate bins for trash and recycling, and I wanted something efficient that would let me sort waste without having multiple separate containers taking up space. The simplehuman CW2025 promised a dual-compartment solution, a strong pedal, and a clean stainless finish, exactly what I was looking for.Setup / First ImpressionsIt arrived fully assembled, which was great — no instructions or time lost putting pieces together. The stainless steel has a brushed finish with a fingerprint-proof coating, which keeps it looking tidy even after lots of use. The dual compartments are well-matched: 34 L for general trash, 24 L for recycling, so I don’t have to empty the recycling side super often. The liner pocket inside is clever, I can stash a roll of liners right in the bin so changing bags is quick and less messy. Pedal feels sturdy, lid closes quietly, and overall it looks premium in my kitchen.Performance / QualityIn everyday use this bin works very well. The pedal is wide and feels durable; even with daily stomping (kids, cooking, etc.) it seems solid and doesn’t squeak or wobble. Lid “soft-close” is a big plus — no loud bangs or slams. The liner rim holds bags neatly without overhanging or slipping in, which keeps things looking clean. On the downside: because it’s large and dual compartment, it takes up quite some floor space (Width ~22", Depth ~14.2", Height ~25.8") so it’s best suited to a decent sized kitchen, not a tiny one. Also, the stainless steel finish is good at resisting fingerprints, but you can still see smudges if you touch it directly or with wet hands.Pros✔️ Dual compartments mean trash + recycling in one tidy unit✔️ Solid build (steel pedal, durable materials) and a 10-year warranty gives confidence in longevity✔️ Fingerprint-proof brushed stainless steel keeps the exterior looking clean most of the time✔️ Liner pocket is very handy — no more rummaging for bags✔️ Quiet lid close (“lidshox” or “lid shox” tech) is a relief compared to bins that slamCons❌ Large footprint — takes up quite a bit of space, so not ideal for very small kitchens or tight corners❌ Still needs occasional cleaning of the stainless steel; the “fingerprint-proof” coating helps but doesn’t make it totally immune❌ The recycling compartment is smaller (24 L) so if you generate a lot of recyclables, you’ll empty that side more oftenFinal VerdictIf you have the space, this is an excellent bin for combining functionality, appearance, and durability. It handles daily trash and recycling well, feels premium, and keeps things tidy. For someone who wants a high quality kitchen bin and doesn’t mind the size, it’s a great investment. If space is tight, you’ll want to measure carefully before committing.

Expensive but worth it
The bin isn't cheap but feels very sturdy and well made. I've bought numerous cheaper pedal bins and have always found they end up breaking easily due to poor design and always end up stinking/rusting from inside. We've had our bin 6 months and it still looks as good as when we first bought it. The hidden bin liner holder insider makes it perfect and easy to switch bins out, rather than faffing looking for the bags under the sink. Nice and clean design and despite the costly price tag it's well worth it
