Review: saved my expensive lens...I wouldn't have been able to replace. - I had my camera in a bag. The bottom broke and when I looked down my lens and camera body were separate. I looked and tried to put the lens back on but it didn't work. There was a small piece of the circle I ordered broke off.....I mean3mm at most. I pleasantly surprised that a replacement was listed on desertcart. It was a little price compared to what a lens would cost so I thought, well I can try. Let me tell you it worked. It took a while to get it on, quite some time but it was fixed and so far works great, I have had a lot of time to try the focus but I believe it's ok. I was so glad it save my lens. Thanks! **Q: is it metal?**
A: No.  Unfortunately plastic just like the original.

**Q: Will this fit a nikon dx vr 18-55mm1:3.5-5.6 g2?**
A: It will not fit in my ...5.6GII. The holes are off.

**Q: camera newbie all the numbers match but i dont see vr but it has switch button that is for A or M so i assume its autofocus?anyway will this ring work**
A: It worked for me, and after I put it on my lenses is been great.

**Q: After replacing, does this keep you from changing the f-stop?  Or does it work correctly?**
A: If you follow directions it works perfectly...no problems with my gear now and more than likely will never ever be a problem...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Saved my beloved lens!

Saved my beloved lens! When I accidentally knocked my camera off the table and saw my beloved Nikon 18-105 lens and body lying apart on the floor my heart sank. Partially because it is a great everyday lens and partially because I was in the attic taking picture of a leak around chimney :( While I still have to figure out cost of roof repair, I was able to take care of the lens myself. The whole replacement process took less than 40 minutes, mostly because I took my time ensuring I don’t miss a step or screw. It is really straight forward and if you know how to use screwdriver you can fix it yourself. I was looking for a genuine part but couldn’t find it anywhere. The fit of this lens mount was perfect. All screw holes were aligned. The only iffy thing is that it is made of cheap plastic. While I was mounting the ground wire spring loaded mount it tore the screw hole since it was too tight, since it was too tight it still held the screw in place. I am not sure if it will loosen up over time. Took a star off for that reason.
