Anna and Sarah Pitted California Deglet Noor Dates in Resealable Bag, 2 lbs 1 Pack

Ordered another package before my next subscription. They are so good it's hard to restrict to a daily serving size so be careful as they do have a lot of natural sugar. Got them for other nutritional benefits.

Tasty, fresh and soft right out of the back, freezes very well.

I prefer the Deglet Noor dates over the others. A bit more "carmellly" with slight chew. This is the brand I buy and I am never disappointed. They are wonderful.

These pitted California dates are very moist and sweet! I'm not sure what variety the dates are, but they're smaller than Medjool, more like deglet noor in size but not as dry as those are and they're far sweeter than those. They range in color from golden to amber and they are almost as sweet as Halawi dates, but not quite, so I'd say they're sweet enough to satisfy a craving for something to snack on, would be wonderful to use when making date shakes, and good to use when baking sweet deserts such as date bars, but they're too moist and sweet to be suitable for stuffing with nuts or fruit.The majority of the dates in the bag I bought were cleanly pitted, but I did run across a few with shattered bits of pit in the date meat so nibble them with care to avoid damaging your teeth. Be sure to seal the bag tightly after opening them and store it in a cool dark place such as the fridge to keep the dates from spoiling. Overall, despite the few bits of pits I've found, these dates are reasonably priced, moist, meaty, sweet and delicious, so I would definitely buy them again.

My husband and I have been on an intermittent fast for over a year and have lost about 25 pounds each. We have tried to cut out most processed foods and are eating more raw veggies than I every thought possible. He has never been a big fan of sweets but I do like them from time to time, and a Payday bar has always been one of my favorites. I did some research and found a recipe for a healthier version. It uses dates as the main ingredient for the nougat part. I tried using some dates I purchased at my regular grocery store, and the candy that I made with them was pretty good. I realized that I was going to need more dates to make more candy, so I gave Anna And Sarah Pitted California Dates a try. WOW. They were so moist and plump - much tastier than the store bought dates. And they were a great value. They ended up being cheaper than the dates I bought at the store AND they tasted better. My version of the Payday bars tastes better than the real one when I use these dates. I am about to buy my second bag of these and I intend to keep this on my shopping list so that I never run out.

About half of them are wonderful. The other half are dry and fibrous. I think I'll shop elsewhere for dates next time.

The entire bag of dates was dried up and hard, totally inedible. I've bought from the vendor a couple of times before and have always been happy with the product so very disappointing to have to throw the entire bag away.
