Teleporting is so slow
Cons: The transfer speed with teleport is so slow. It hiicups when watching videos from youtube. I don't know why. Maybe teleport servers have set some kind of bandwidth throttling. In that case I'd rather pay for a service like strongvpn instead.

Okay - not great
When teleporting the link is not always very stable. Works for a while and then drops back to my regular US link. Some performance hit - but not unexpected. EU link seems be to via the Netherlands - would be good to have a wider choice within the EU - many UK sites still see Netherlands as "foreign". A Canadian North American option would also be good as the US is regarded as "foreign".

Unpredictable but helpful
I purchased the product hoping that it would be better than the free/open proxies and to get rid of the stupid popups you get with using them. However, I am quite disappointed by the unpredictable latencies when using the 'Teleport Me' feature to connect to a US VPN.I've used Anchor Free Hotspot Shield (the free version) and have been satisfied with their speeds but the annoying popups made me go for a different product.Apart from the 'Teleport Me' feature, the product comes with a feature that lets you securely connect to another computer. This comes in real handy especially to troubleshoot my mom's PC remotely.Their support team is very cooperative and stay in touch to get your issues resolved. I've been assured that they'll continue to improve their infrastructure to help ease out latency issues.

VPN Made Easy
This is iTwin's latest product that was revealed during CES 2013. It establishes VPN connection to one of their 3 geographical servers (US,EU,Singapore) or your own home server. On top of that, you get to access local files or even establish remote desktop sessions between the 2 connected machines securely through the device. A technical person might argue that the functionalities provided by iTwin Connect are already present within all the latest desktops and laptops. Yes, that is a true statement, but how many people actually know how to set up and use them correctly? Many people access sensitive information (finance, research, private emails) from unprotected public network (airports, coffee shops, bookstores) everyday without knowing the danger. But sadly for most of them, setting up a traditional VPN connection is simply way beyond their technical expertise or "too much hassle". iTwin Connect bridges this gap by simplifying the process down to a plug-n-play device. With this, at least those who recognize the danger can protect themselves appropriately with ease. Now I can simply give one half to my wife and she can also be better protected without any extra configuration on her part.Just as advertised, the device was very easy to set up. Plug it in and keep pressing "Next" until installation is complete. From then on, you can select the server you want to connect to every time you plug it in and everything else happens in the background. The tech support was also very responsive. I had a little trouble installing the device on one of my home machines (some permission issue with Win7 64-bit, weird symptoms but simply had to "Run As Admin") and one of their engineers contacted me directly to diagnose the problem through Skype and Remote Desktop. No BS, straight to the problem. So much more efficient than speaking to a random "engineer" who knows less about the device than I do from past experiences with other companies.I would highly recommend this device to pretty much anyone who uses public network or work from multiple locations. I know how to set up VPN and other network related tasks but iTwin Connect is still my top choice simply due to its overall ease of use. If I have to nit pick, I would have preferred the device to automatically connect to a default server and to not show the initialization screen every time, making the whole experience even more transparent. The price tag is also a little high but I don't mind paying a little more to support a young start-up.

COMPANY APPEARS DEFUNCT. DEVICES NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL
UPDATE 2016.10.25: DO NOT BUY -- the company appears to have gone defunct and most likely shut down servers that are vital to allowing the iTwin devices to work. i can no longer use the base product, the iTwin Remote File Access, nor the flagship product, the iTwin Connect.BOTH ARE APPEARS TO BE COMPLETELY NON-FUNCTIONAL.on the manufacturer's website, it says that it would work with windows server 2008. however, when i tried to install the software, it kept crashing my server. i contacted the manufacturer about the problem via the support email address given on their website. it's been over a week and i have not yet heard from them.

Finally a decent solution!
There's not much to say. The thing works! It's quite simple to install, though I had to go to "computer" and double click the device in order to get to a setup.exe (I'm using Windows 7). Then I separated one side of the device and stored it in the nice little pouch included for that purpose and re-connected the remaining USB stick. After doing so, an icon appeared in my tray. I clicked on that and selected "teleport me." I first selected USA and a US flag appeared on top of the iTwin icon. That's it.I then checked an ISP reveal site and my ISP was not the same. I was now located in California with an ISP that didn't indicate me.For $129.00, I'm now protected by a VPN. No further charges will be made. My only regret was not searching Amazon first. I got here using a link from iTwin. Had I searched Amazon, I could have spent less. One negative comment. I was hoping to be able to watch BBC with the EU servers, but apparently the server has to be in Great Britain in order to be able to view BBC programming.

I hate it when it does not work
I have two and they both have stopped working with failing to validate device! I email the help line 3 days ago and I've had no response. The last time this happen their server was down. I hate it when it does not work, but when it is working it is great. We need to hear back from them why the device stops working from time to time because of their server problems. Also will not reinstall, so if you buy one today it will not install software! 4/29/2017
