Q: I'm from Alaska, we have an alaskan directv dish it's a bit bigger then the ones down south, will this fit my dish????

It might. There is a 2 to 3 inch portion that is pulled to the back of my dish. The cover has an elastic edge and a cord to pull it tight around the dish. I would sy it depends how much bigger your dish is than mine. I hope this helps you.

Q: Why does this cover work so well for some and not at all for others?

I can only answer to say that it didn't work at all for us. We live in an area that gets a moderate amount of snow. Whether we have a light dusting or a few feet, the cover didn't help at all. My husband still had to get up on the ladder to brush off the snow. We ended up removing it and it's now gathering dust in the shed.

Q: Will this cover work on the slim line?

You can compare the dimensions of your slim line to the specs. I'm not familiar with the slimp line. It's basically a large circle, maybe 30 inches across with a stretch drawstring around the outside. You simply put it over the dish and pull the drawstring so that it goes behind the dish, leaving it stretched tight across the front. It should work great at eliminating snow buildup .
