Aquario NEO DIY CO2 Kit is the perfect CO2 system for beginners. Carbon is an important nutrient needed by plants to grow. The best way to supply your plants with the carbon they need is through carbon dioxide (CO2). The Aquario NEO DIY CO2 Kit is the perfect solution to your CO2 needs. The simple instructions and ease of use allow any beginner or experienced hobbyist to achieve the best plant growth by introducing CO2 to their aquarium. The Aquario NEO DIY CO2 Kit utilizes a natural and proven concept to provide the right amount of CO2 suitable for planted aquariums for up to 50-60 days. We recommend using one bottle for every 20 gallons of water, so if your tank is larger, multiple bottles can be used concurrently.

Love it - A perfect setup for plant tanks or basic CO2 setups.
Will this get you the best colors and growth? No. Should you pair this with a $250 Chihiros light? Probably not. Should you reasonably invest more in CO2 if you want a true high tech tank? For sure. But this product is an amazing way to spend $30 and have an easy, all-in-one solution to upgrade a low tech tank and improve plant growth and colors very easily. I added one to my 10g plant grow tank which works amazingly. It generates enough CO2 to help the plants but not so much that I need to actively regulate the CO2 levels. I don't actually have any fish in that tank, but it hasn't ever generated enough CO2 for it to be a worry. On 5g or smaller tanks without tons of plants, I'd definitely keep an eye on the levels though.I just bought another kit to convert a previously low tech 10g tank to a high(er) tech tank and I'm very excited. Its by far the cheapest and smallest way to set up CO2.

Solid starter co2
Just follow the instructions and it works fine. No it's not a super fancy tank with a bubble counter but, it does it's job and it does it well.

Plants respoded well to this
The media could not be loaded. Ive had a CO2 deficiency (green hair algae) for a while but the canister CO2 was intimidating to me cuz of the price and tge process for refills I thought I might not be able to maintain the canister CO2 so I did research on alternatives and found this I got this set up last night it was super easy to set up I have a 20 long so I used 1 packet of the bio powder and it started working after an hour which is great I had my doubts I thought I mightve done it wrong somehow cuz it has specific temperature waters it wants you to use but its working so its super easy to do I came to observe my tank today and was surprised to see all of my plants pearling even though Im currently in the process of treating my fish for ich with salt 😅 found out I had ich as this was coming in the mail so this will be a boost for my plants during and after this treatment and Im very happy to have found this in my video I have more stem plants on the other side of the tank but they arent pearling as much so I didnt go all the way through but you can get an idea of how much its effecting my plants I also took a picture of the diffuser to show how much is coming out

Setup went ok and working well
Update:Been using it for a couple of weeks now. On the 2nd day, it seemed like it stopped working but on day 3 it was working again but at a lower level. Seems like it takes a day or two to find an equilibrium level. It works, it's simple. In my 15-gallon tank, it puts in just enough c02 to turn the drop checker almost "green". It's seems to be slowing down and I don't know if that because the weather is getting cooler or the mix is getting weaker, or both.MY easy-to-grow plants are growing aggressively and not a hint of algae even though I've bumped up my lighting and fertsOnce the included refill packs are gone I won't be replacing it, I'll be getting something else with a regulator.Still 4 stars. Simple and works as expected but is limited in application.== original review ==I got this kit because I could not decide how deep down the C02 hole (cost) I wanted to go.Setup: Fluval Flex 15 with Fluval Nano light and a corner sponge filter to go with the stock Fluval Flex filter.I followed the instructions on the box. The main difference between the box and online instructions is the temperature of the water used to create the Gel and the mix. Both in creating the gel and the mix I used the hotter temperatures on the box. The only thing I did that was not on the box was I soaked the diffuser before putting it in the tank. I saw that online somewhere so I chose to do it while I got everything ready.Everything went according to instructions. The gel was completely set up after 24hrs. (online instructions said to check by turning over the bottle and if there was any water to check again after an hour).I switched out to some nicer silicone tubing I had lying around. I put the diffuser in my tank and about an hour later a very nice stream of bubbles. Along with the kit I bought a smart power strip and set my sponge filter to shut off during the day and on at night to prevent a build-up of C02. Not sure I needed to do that but that is what I did.If this does nothing or does great I'll update this review.I took a star off because it's expensive for a bottle of goo. For the same price, you can get a 2-bottle DIY kit with a valve to control the amount of C02.

Great alternative to regular CO2, but be careful to not overfill the bottle.
The Kit works great, and is surprisingly effective. However, be careful not to overfill the bottle, as mine backed up into the aquarium via the tube and filled it with the white substance that was inside. It was quiet an undertaking to clean everything up. Regardless, I still recommend this kit.

Inconsistent
I've purchased 3 of these since they came out and every one has been different. Following the instructions closely and I still have issues with it making co2 at times. One of the lids no matter what I did would leak. I added O ring and tightened with pliers and it was still oozing out the yeast. One filled the entire co2 line with yeast. These were never tipped over or anything just set and forget.I rather spend $99 on an fzone regulator and a smaller paintball tank, which is what Ive done twice now and Ive filled the co2 canisters once in 8 months for $5.

Great Alternative to Pressurized co2
I’ve kept planted tanks for several years and co2 is a requirement for a balanced and lush system. I’ve used pressurized systems in the past but I live in a city and during covid getting paintball tank refills has been challenging. Additionally big box sporting goods retailers seem to no longer consistently have co2 in stock to refill tanks which drove me to find an alternative method of injection. This Aquario kit is the easiest all in one option I have found, I just wish it came in larger sizes but a workaround to that is to run two bottles at once which is perfect for my 40 gallon water box tank. While these Neo CO2 bottles are overpriced on Amazon, you can’t beat the next day deliver in a pinch. I just wish there was some way to buy more of the “bio” packets which I have a suspicion are just dry activated yeast. Overall a relatively inexpensive alternative to pressurized co2 if your like me and can no longer source refills in your area.
