Vibrant and works great!
I have been a manic panic fan for many, many years now. I have dark brown hair that has some lighter pieces from a balayage that I had done about 6 months ago. I use this over my entire head. I try to stay away from my scalp but it inevitable gets there because I have a lot of gray which I like to cover with this product. It will stain towels and clothes but I think that is to be expected when dying your own hair. Even though, it takes a VERY long time to wash the dye out, I think it's totally worth it. Lasts for 2 months or so and slowly fades into a lighter pink on my lightest pieces. I will continue to buy this product.

I finally did it - I dyed my hair Vampire Red and I LOVE it
So my hair color is light brunette with the occasional blonde highlight. I have wanted to dye my hair red for the last ten years, and with quarantine, I was like - screw it - it's time to take the plunge. I went with manic panic Vampire Red because I didn't want it to be permanent, but I also wanted a pretty intense red. Here is what I learned. By the way, keep in mind that I diluted the manic panic with conditioner, so your results may be COMPLETELY different if you just use the dye with no dilution. Positives: 1. Easy application I honestly know nothing about dying hair, and it turned out amazing regardless. 2. NO BLEACH NEEDED!! (see before and after picture) Look, obviously if you want that red to match the color on the container, you're gonna have to bleach your hair. But it looks awesome without it too, which I can't say about all hair dyes! 3. It didn't destroy my hair! Actually, my hair felt amazing after application. Not to mention I have thin, delicate hair that I'm deathly paranoid of damaging (for fear that I might lose what I have!). 4. The dye smells awesome! AND it's vegan! Negatives: 1. It bleeds. Everywhere. I'm lucky that my towels and sheets are all dark because HOLY MOLY this thing bleeds for weeks after the initial dye job. Even when I got sweaty during exercise, some of the droplets were pinkish red! I don't even want to imagine what would happen if I got in a chlorinated pool! I mean, I expected as much because it's semi-permanent, but man. It's stubborn to get off surfaces, and it never did come out of my one set of light colored sheets. Make sure you have some bleach and a magic eraser handy, because I would have stained everything I loved if I wasn't careful. 2. It has pink undertones, which can make it fade strangely. Now this may not actually be a negative for you, but it was for me since I wanted browner undertones. To each their own though. Overall, this was a cheap and fantastic choice. I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who is curious!

Awesome BRIGHT hair dye!
My kid really wanted to dye their hair bright red so we settled on this color/brand, and I’m so glad we did! He has naturally dark/sandy blonde hair and we didn’t lighten it first so I was really thinking it would end up faded orange or something but it turned out perfectly! We got the vampire red and it’s literally just as bright as I’d assume it would’ve been had we bleached it first (or at least super close). We left it on for 40 mins and rinsed twice, once just to get most of the dye out and then again with a bit of shampoo so it wouldn’t be as brutal on his clothes/skin/pillowcase with the initial staining that always comes with using these bright dyes, and I think it really helped (for those who haven’t used this kind of bright dye before, expect it to stain stuff for a while, it’s just part of it, imo). He’s shampooed it twice since and it’s only faded slightly and is still bright and awesome. Highly recommend.

Beautiful. But stains.
Very rich color. The only thing bad thing is that color will definitely stain clothing if your hair is wet/damp. Per instruction: I bleached my hair to level 10. Put the red color on dry hair for 30 minutes. Then rinsed with cold water until the water “runs clear”. However I was rinsing my hair for about 30 minutes in shower and the water was still running red. I would just have to buy black towels and make sure my clothing doesn’t touch my hair when it’s damp.

It’s great FOR ME
It’s pretty good actually. I wasn’t expecting it to stay for this long because of what other people have said. KEEP IN MIND: everyone’s hair is different. Even if you see people saying something works for them or doesn’t work for them, it definitely doesn’t mean it will be that way for you. The only downside this had for me is the fact that it stained everything the worst. If you catch them early enough you can maybe get them out. But hey, I’ve washed my hair over three times in the past three weeks and the color is still vibrant asf.

Good but with a few cautions.
This is for Vampire Red MP: On the one hand, it will dye your hair VERY BRIGHT red. On the other, it lasts that VERY bright shade of red for about 1-2 washes and then rapidly fades to an eventual pinkish color that simply won't leave. Or at least that's how it worked for me. I had naturally light hair, highlighted blonde. The best experience I've had with manic panic was using it as pastels. I had rose-gold color from mixing cotton candy pink + psychedelic sunset + equal amount of conditioner and it was gorgeous. Mix it up with conditioner and leave on for 30 min and it dyes pastel beautifully. It also conditions the hair and feels fantastic. When using it as a pastel it lasts on my hair approx 4 weeks and then it's gone like it was never there. When I used MP Vampire Red straight it was still a unflattering pink after 12 weeks of every color removing trick in the book.... so yeah. I ended up having to go to a salon to fix it but they couldn't bleach the rest out so I ended up dying over it. Moral of the story is that it's great when used as a pastel, you probably have to start with blonde hair, and if you use it undiluted on bleached hair you very well might never get it out!
