RevellU.S.S. Voyager (Star Trek) Model Kit, 1:670 Scale, 51.4 cm

Have been looking for this kit for a few months, but it's hard to find in the US. Stumbled across it while browsing Amazon and the price was outstanding compared to what I've seen on that popular auction site. Received it much faster than the estimated delivery window of 3-5 weeks from the UK, only 9 days. This is a very detailed kit, and the scale is I believe 1/657. The kit is molded in medium/dark gray, with some clear parts for the deflector dish and the flux chiller grills (the glowing parts on the sides of the engine nacelles) as well as some large window inserts for the hull. There a lot, and I mean a lot of decals, many of them very small accent decals which are scattered around the model surface. The instructions are very well illustrated, but there is virtually no text to guide you through the assembly steps. This is a normal aspect of Revell's current kits, as I just bought a F-14 Tomcat of Revell's from '09 and the instructions are much the same.

Love this because the decals is improved in Germany made.

As expected, the detailing of Revell models is excellent. For those buyers who need to know if the landing struts come out, they don't. That being said many modelers just make their own. The decal sheet is extensive, but there are two decals missing, the escape pod launch doors. There are two on the primary hull located on both the starboard and port sides of the aft torpedo launchers. But I took care of that by doing some precision painting. Everything else is perfect, once completed this model is stunning and ready to set course for home, or the display shelf.

Voyager has never been so life like before now! This model, made in 2009, is incredibly faithful to the real (or at least virtually real) ship. This is a level 3 model, so if you plan to paint and decal (which you really should) previous experience is recommended. If you take your time, follow the instructions, and work hard you will build a breathtaking ship. This ship is about 21 inches fully assembled, and comes with a stand and plenty of clear pieces for you lighting aficionados. This kit comes from Germany, but is complete with english translations for instructions. This model is truly the Audi of the model universe. It does not get much better then this. For 36 dollars you have a chance to build a professional model, what are you waiting for?Heres a helpful tip: if you don't want to wait for international shipping, you're out of luck. I tried to find a domestic kit, and was unsuccessful. (Well I found several on eBay for 150 dollars, but its not worth it). Buy this kit, the shipping is a lot faster then they say. I received my kit in two weeks (three weeks ahead of schedule!).

This item shipped from England via Royal Mail, and delivery estimate as a month after order; took about a week. Outer box got some abuse, but inner box was just fine. Kit was like American Monogram kit it was replacing, full sticker set, comprehensive instructions for painting and assembly. Finished product was excellent, and price was 1/2 or better than what you pay for this kit domestically! What a baaaagain for you!!!!

I'm so excited I give this one 5 stars before it has even arrived. Been looking for a while for this exact model. Getting hard to find and I had decided that paying $90 or more was going to be reality since it is discontinued in the U.S. I had found these on a German website, but was not willing to learn German in order to purchase. Amazon surprised me when my phone woke me up at midnight with the deal of the day...and there was Voyager in all her glory..for about 35 bucks. Ordered immediately. Cannot go wrong with Revell and apparently this 2009 German reissue has corrected some technical issues from past issues.I plan on building a realistic, painted and lighted model. Completed ones are selling for over $600. At this price I hope to have everything (new deflector shield, JT decals, Para graphics, lighting kit...etc) for around $100. If all goes as planned I will invest in a "Limited Edition" one with open cargo bay next next. Use this one for the learning curve before spending $150 on the next model.

The quality of Revell of Germany's model kits rivals the actual shooting models for detail AND the fit and finish are simply exquisite! EVERY window etc looks like it was laser cut and is absolutely flawless.Happy modeling with Revell of Gewrmany kits is pretty much a guarantee THOUGH THEY ARE NOT for 10 and over. These kits are REALLY meant FOR experienced modelers and they are a challenge even for us, and some of us have been building these since the 70s when we were children.Like Revell of Germany's "JJPrise" from "Star Trek" and "Star Trek; Into Darkness" this kit is simple (hardly simple) elegance and utter perfection as far as styrene models are concerned AND a boon to ANY experienced modeler who wants a showpiece AND a challenge!Happy modeling.

Fun build, especially if you love the painting aspect of it! Looks great lit, although in hindsight I would have put more thought into the nacelles before assembly to light them as well. But there’s always next time. Would (will) purchase again.

Meglio di come mi aspettassi!Davvero magnifica è tanto tempo che cercavo qualcosa inerente a st voyager per arredare la camera finalmente l'ho trovato.Il modelli e molto dettagliato, i colori e la colla non sono inclusi.Minuzioso il lavoro delle decalcomanie ma il risultato ripaga di tutti gli sforzi!

aber auch jeder andere ambitionierte Modellbauer bekommt hier einen tollen Bausatz.Ich finde dieses Modell von Revell sehr gelungen.Der Detailierungsgrad ist wie von Revell vorgesehen schon recht gut - ich habe mir aber trotzdem ein PE-Set dazu gekauft um noch mehr Details realisieren zu können. EInfach mal nach "PARAGRAFIX Revell 04801" googlen.Das wertet das Modell nochmal deutlich auf.Die Paßform der Hülle etc. ist gut - da kann man auch ganz andere Dinge erleben bei anderen Bausätzen.Aber natürlich muß hier und da noch etwas gespachtelt und geschliffen werden.-----------------------Hierzu ein Tip:Es gibt eine deutlich günstigere und zugleich deutlich bessere Lösung als die üblichen Spachtelmassen aus den Modellbaushops.Man besorge sich Ethylacetat - nicht in der Apotheke sondern bei einem Shop im Netz - da bekommt man 1 l für rund 5€.Gußäste in einem verschlossenen Gefäß darin auflösen - über Nacht stehen lassen - und man hat den perfekten Spachtel.Kann dann z.B. mit dem Pinsel wie dicke Emailfarbe aufgetragen werden.Da der Spachtel fließt ist es ein leichtes damit Spalten und Kanten zu füllen, dabei bildet er von alleine eine glatte Oberfläche.Weiterer Vorteil, man bringt nicht unnötig viel Spachtel auf das Modell und muß somit weniger wegschleifen.Dazu hat er die gleiche Farbe wie das Modell und besteht aus dem gleichen Material - flüssiges Polystyrol eben.Für größere Füllarbeiten macht man eben eine dickere Mischung.Aber der Clou, Ethylacetat ist auch perfekt als Kleber.All die flüssigen Kleber welche es zu kaufen gibt haben im Grunde die gleiche chemische Basis und lösen das Plastik an. Ethylacetat macht das genauso nur verflüchtigt es sich recht schnell und zu viel läßt sich einfach abwischen. Mit kleinen Einwegspirtzen läßt sich der Kleber wunderbar einfach verarbeiten.Dabei kostet es nur einen Bruchteil.Ethylacetat, Kleber und Spachtel in einem für kein Geld im Vergleich zu den Mittelchen der Modellbaushops. 1 L für 5€ gegen wieviel? - 20ml für 3/4€......Ausprobieren, ihr werdet es nicht bereuen.------------------------Zurück zum Modell.Es sind einige Klarsichtteile dabei z.B. für den großen Deflektor) und der Decalsatz ist recht umfangreich.Der Bausatz ist im Grunde einfach zu bauen - ich empfehle ihn trotzdem nicht für Anfänger.Wieso?1: Alleine die vielen, vielen kleinen Decals anständig zu verarbeiten ist eine Herausforderung.2: Die großen Flächen bekommt man mit Pinsel kaum gut lackiert - da sollte eine Airbrush verfügbar sein.3: Um den richtigen Farbton zu treffen (zumindest so wie Revell ihn vorgibt) müssen Farben gemischt werden. Als alter Hase juckt einen das nicht, da schaut man sich nach einem passenden Farbton bei einem anderen Hersteller um oder mischt ihn sich tatsächlich eben einfach.4: Kleine Detailbemalung an den Sensorphalanxen nötig - das bekommt man als Anfänger auch nicht unbedingt schön hin.Das Modell bietet sich geradezu an beleuchtet zu werden.Es gibt fertige Kits im Netz dazu, wer diesen Weg jedoch gehen will der kann es auch gleich richtig angehen und eine individuelle Beleuchtung realisieren. Im Netz gibt es gerade zur Voyager viele gute Videos zu dem Thema. Wenn ihr euch die Arbeit schon machen wollt dann gleich richtig. Zu bedenken wenn ihr eine Beleuchtung machen wollt sind kleine Ritzen dann sehr penibel zu füllen um Lichtaustritt zu verhindern. Dazu paßt mein obiger Tip perfekt. :-)Und wenn ihr es auf die Spitze treiben wollt öffnet ihr alle Fenster für die Beleuchtung - und dann werdet ihr wohl sicher das eine oder andere mal Sch** schreien, denn das ist eine Drecksarbeit.Ich hab es sogar 2 mal gemacht - mein erster Versuch war im Endergebnis dann nicht zufriedenstellend.Nähere Erklärungen zu diesem Thema und der besten Vorgehensweise erspare ich mir hier, das Netz bietet sehr viele Berichte hierzu.Ihr könnt aber natürlich in den Kommentaren fragen.Fazit:Selbst Out of the Box gebaut ein sehr ansprechendes Modell, welches dabei sehr viel Potential bietet einen richtigen Hingucker zu basteln.

Estaba buscando algo con lo que entretenerme y me decidi por esta maqueta, la serie me gusto bastante y era una elección fácil en este aspecto. Decir que no es muy sencilla de montar ni es muy difícil es un termino medio.Pintarla ya es otro cantar, ya que recomiendan hacerlo con aerografo los maquetistas, puedes pintarla a mano y de echo te recomiendan colores para ello.Vienen piezas transparantes por si como yo, quieres aventurarte a iluminarla con leds ( esto ya es muy PRO, debes tener conocimientos de ello o te sale una chufa).muy buena maqueta, muy buen precio.y por cierto, una vez montada, mide medio metro, literalmente.

A nice and well made kit of the ship. Is quite a large model so you'll need room on your shelf for it or a smaller sized version would be best if not. The manual is a little confusing but a standard template or all models from this company and with a little time and effort would be easy to understand the painting guide. Assembly of the models is simple and easy and the manual might not even be needed for most modellers. I'll certainly be looking for more items from Revell in future as I like the brand and the seller was very good.
