Nye is a fantastic poet. Not verbose; she is not technically typographically artsy. She is a communicator, with the joy and openness to life as Bishop and Oliver. I believe she will surpass them in breadth of insight. Meanwhile, "Never in a Hurry," is an international American book. A global view, the greater thought.

If you care more than casually about the people in this world and you care, or might even be persnickety about good, clean, involved writing, you will like this book.This is the fifth Nye authored book I have read.Tip for Never In A Hurry? enjoy spending time with Ms. Nye. It is as if a really interesting and kind person has come over to your house to drink tea with you.

Possibly the best book in this genre. Nye's essays are thought provoking because they could happen in any of our lives. If you are going to be stranded on an island, take this book with you.

Naomi Shihab Nye is a bridge-builder. She reaches out to those of other cultures, and always expresses understanding of those sometimes forgotten in our society. A good book for all ages!

This is my favorite of Naomi Nye's books. She has such a gift for describing human experiences and some of her stories make me cry and laugh at the same time.
