Just as good
turned out to be an excellent surprise and is every bit as good as my usual brand. The paste has a balanced medium heat with a nice depth of flavor, combining gentle sweetness with rich, savory umami. The ingredient list is straightforward, with brown rice, red pepper powder, and no corn syrup, which is a nice bonus for a pantry staple used often. The 500 g tub is convenient, seals well, and stores neatly in the fridge,

Perfectly Balanced Gochujang Paste for Everything
Amazingly delicious! I bought this Gochujang paste for beef bulgogi and stir-fry, but now I use it in everything. The balance of spice, salt, and sweetness is perfect, and it adds incredible umami to any dish. The thick texture works well for marinades, sauces, or even sandwiches. It has a gentle kick, but nothing overwhelming and a little goes a long way. Great value and highly recommended if you want a versatile, flavor-boosting ingredient.

I use this paste so often the fridge recognizes it! Alexa (Echo) reminds me to re-order! :D
A massive tub of fermented joy found a permanent home in the refrigerator of a person who has clearly abandoned all hope of a bland diet. The quality of this O'Food Gochujang is apparent from the first smell, releasing a complex aroma of sun-dried chilis and savory soybeans. It has a rich, velvety texture that spreads like a dream on chicken wings or ribs before they meet the scorching heat of the grill. This paste feels like a professional-grade ingredient that has been generously sized for the overly ambitious amateur who thinks they are a master of Asian fusion. This specific sauce is a unique health-conscious warrior, proudly proclaiming its gluten-free status while keeping the flavor profile remarkably traditional. The absence of corn syrup means the sweetness comes from the fermentation of rice, providing a sophisticated depth that cheaper alternatives simply cannot match. The design of the packaging is utilitarian and honest, featuring a wide mouth that allows for easy access with even the largest of ladles. It is a dense, heavy product that feels like it could survive a trip to Mars and still be ready to flavor a stew upon arrival. Integrating this red paste into a meal is a straightforward affair, assuming one knows that a little goes a remarkably long way. It acts as a savory anchor for stews and soups, providing a thick body and a rich color that makes any dish look twice as appetizing. The unique "spicy-sweet-savory" trifecta is perfectly balanced, ensuring that no single note overpowers the others in the symphony of the stir-fry. It is a versatile tool in the kitchen, equally at home in a complex BBQ rub or a simple dipping sauce for crunchy vegetables. However, the lid can be a bit of a trickster, occasionally refusing to snap shut properly if a tiny bit of paste dries on the rim of the container. The labeling is mostly clear, though some of the finer details might require a magnifying glass for those interested in the minutiae of fermented bean history. Also, the weight of the tub makes it a bit of a workout to move from the back of the shelf to the counter if one is feeling particularly lazy. It is a truthful and concise representation of a classic staple, providing high-quality flavor with only a few minor logistical headaches. :D Excellent Things Rich, authentic fermentation provides a deep "umami" flavor that enhances almost any savory dish. 👍 The absence of wheat-based thickeners makes it a cleaner, more traditional choice for the pantry. 👍 Wide-mouth tub design allows you to get every last bit of paste without a specialized scraper. 👍 Versatile enough to be used as a marinade, a base for soup, or a direct table condiment. Unworthy Things The lid seal can become compromised if you aren't meticulous about cleaning the edges after use. 👎 A one-kilogram tub is not enough! 👎 The bright red color will permanently stain any plastic container it touches for more than five minutes. 👎 Information on the back of the tub is printed in a font size seemingly meant for ants.

Delicious goodness
I love this product, it tastes so, so good. I would definitely say if spicy isn't your thing, introduce it slowly to your food! A little bit goes a long way. I love to use this for tofu, I make a sticky sauce with 1/4c gochujang paste, 3 tbs pure maple syrup, 1 tbs rice vinegar, and 1 tbs sesame oil cooked over medium heat until thickened. Then I toss in pan fried tofu with steamed cauliflower and edamame and serve over rice. This stuff is so versatile it works with chicken, beef, tofu, just veggies, really anything you want that extra kick in. I've even put a dollop in mac and cheese. I feel like there's so much more depth to the flavor than just hot sauce. I highly recommend it.

A First Timer to Gochujang Paste
Gochujang, Hot Red Chili Positively Bonified Korean product as every word on the container reads in Korean alphabetics. A wonderfully Spicy flavor is a best description. I've plans on trying it on everything except breakfast cereal. This particular brand paste I'm sure is thick enough to stick to the ceiling. As thick as a name brand tomato paste.

Probably the king of base sauces.
This is one of my top ten Flavor bases to build from. This Gochujang Korean Red Chili Paste is sweet, a little spicy, and a little umami. With the proper blend of seasoning you can bend this the price per unit can't, the thickness of this Chili paste is medium, think a slightly thick sticky ketchup, the quality is good. its a clean, standardized product, so no lumps or grainy texture, the seal was good, and I have yet to find a better price.

Lots of product
I am on my 4th tub of this brand of gochujang. It's delicious! Just the right amount of spicy and savory. It comes with a lot in the tub and a little goes a long way so it lasts!

Great flavor — slightly salty but worth it for authentic taste
I recently tried the Gochujang Korean Red Chili Paste (Medium, 1.1 lb) and it really added a nice kick and depth to sauces, stews, and marinades. The spice level was just right — warm and flavorful but not overwhelmingly hot — and the umami-rich heat blended well in dishes like bibimbap and stir-fries. It’s a bit saltier than homemade versions I’ve had, but that’s a trade-off for convenience and shelf-stability. If you want a quick and easy way to get authentic Korean flavor without complicated prep, this paste is a solid pick
