Luna Optics 6-30x50 LN-G2-B50 Gen-2 Digital Day/Night Vision Binoculars with Dual HR Display

This set of glasses is pretty cool on nights when at least a 1/4 moon is out. However, the moon does not always line up with your need to use the glasses which is reflected in the rating. On fully dark nights, especially if there is cloud cover, I did not find these to be of any use. Maybe this is in the information somewhere but I don't remember it and I did a lot of looking before purchase. Perhaps for my use, heat sensing would have been better. I purchased for coyote searching but watching deer and the horses in the paddock is interesting as well.

These are great for astronomy and camping trips only regret is I wish I forked over the extra $250 for the next model up. Has almost double the range, and a rangefinder. But for the price these are still amazing. You can se animals like owls vividly from about 75 yards away and in detail from about 30 yards. Still cool but wish I went with the more expensive one for the long range zoom.Also for uses I’d use the b/w for astronomy and the green for animals picture comes in the clearest that way.

I ended up sending these back due to one thing. They are not good for star gazing!Yes, I could view objects at night and see them well enough but not at a great distance. Another problem with the unit is the inability to lower the magnification. You start out at 6X magnification. Unless you have very steady hands you will have trouble viewing the object. You must have a tripod to use them but when you move it you will easily over compensate and miss your target. A pair of night vision goggles, though expensive, are the best for star gazing.

After a lot of research and some input from various hunter friends of mine, I settled on these Luna Optics binoculars. The original batteries will give you some good hours of fun, but I also purchased rechargeables for this...you can also charge with cord. These are great for watching wildlife at night, which was my reason for purchase. I have seen a lot going on in my yard!!! There is definitely a bit of a learning curve, but once you get familiar with the buttons, it really is easy!! So glad I purchased these!!

It was not comfortable while using for a period of time. Would be better if the eyepiece adjusted to your face.
