These add an extra boost to your equipment self-cleaning cycles. I have been using the Affresh products for nearly all of my appliances for years. The pods are typically pretty small (less than palm sized) and just get popped in before you start a cleaning cycle.They help prevent odors, leakages, rusting, damage, etc. which helps extend the lifetime of the machine in my opinion. I fully attribute my dish washer's longevity to using these pods for maintenance! And with them being so affordable and easy to use, there's no reason not to.
