Spend a few more bucks and get a carburetor that is perfect right out of the box like this one!
I just don't know how resuscitation of a mower that hasn't run in four or five years can get any better than this. Other than making a few pops on squirts of starter fluid this motor showed no other signs of life with the original carburetor. The tiny little jets are set at impossible angles to get carburetor Jet drills into. Therefore I made the decision to put a new carburetor on and was so glad that I did. After the installation and allowing an hour or so for the carburetor to fully saturate itself with fresh gasoline I only intended to just tap the starter button to make sure the battery was hot and the motor started! Although it had not run in almost five years this motor idled perfectly from the very beginning, revved up strong and I don't believe it could run any better than it does right now. I have not had to adjust anything or do another thing to this motor except put the air cleaner on and cut grass. This carburetor cost more than the knockoffs but, in my opinion, it is worth every penny (and I have been doing things just like this to dozens and dozens of small engines for 66 years). It comes in a Briggs and Stratton factory looking box. Whatever it is it seems perfectly ready to go right out of the box with no further effort on your part except to put some gas in the tank and start the booger up. It's not likely my nap in between putting the gas in and starting it had much effect in all this. But that's how I did it because I'm 79 years old and I can!

Exactly what I needed. Easy install. Very pleased
Well…I read all the negative reviews. Had me worried. But I am ordering the OEM carb so how bad could it be? Had bad needle valving in my old carb. Ordered it. Installed it in next to no time. Exactly the same as my old one. The biggest negative complaint I read about was that this new carb didn’t come with its own choke lever. So? You pop the one off the old carb and pop it on the new one. Hook up your linkage first; make sure the O ring is seated in place and wedge carb on the manifold; re-attach the fuel line; re-assemble air filter housing, and you’re done. Allow the carb bowl to fill with gas then fire it up. Easy peasy I mow commercially and my mower now runs like a bat-out-of-h…

It works!
So it's spring and I made the horrible mistake of using last year's gas in my mower. It immediately quit running. I'm pretty handy and can DIY a lot of stuff but did not want to do this job myself. The problem is every lawn mower repair place has a 3 week wait (or longer), so I basically have no choice but to fix it. I got my nifty nephew to come over and he did the whole job in about 30 minutes. The carb is plastic, and he did break a few pieces getting the old one out. At the very end, something that was on the original carburetor was not on this replacement. I remembered reading other reviews that said it will work without it. (One person said to order a separate part). Somehow he got it to work as is, I don't know if he took something off the old part and moved it or whether it just didn't need it. Anyway, I'm glad he hooked it up right since my yard looks like a jungle. We put fresh ethanol-free gas in it, a spray of starter fluid, and it fired up. I'm thrilled. I saved money and the part was a genuine Briggs & Stratton (the box says 594058). Pics are of the box and the old one we pulled out. Sorry the flash went out on my phone, but I tried to get a few angles. The main point is even if it's a bit different, it does fit and it will work.

Dependable Rock Solid Construction Toro Recycler Briggs & Stratton 594058 Carburetor
I went to start my 22" Toro Recycler mower, even though I ran all of the Gasoline out of the Carburetor at the end of the season to prevent these issues from Ethanol, it would run for a minute or two and Die. The mower had new Gasoline, oil, spark plug, and air filter so I knew it was probably the Carb acting up. I found the Briggs & Stratton 594058 complete Carburetor looking for a overhaul kit for mine and decided that this was the easiest way to get her running. Installing the Briggs & Stratton 594058 Carburetor on my Toro was real easy, one pull and she is running like new. I am so glad I went with a new Carburetor, I have heard way to many stories about putting out good money to overhaul a Carburetor and ending up replacing it anyway. I gave the Briggs & Stratton 594058 Carburetor a Full Five Star Rating Across the Board.

The push mower runs as good as new
The 4-year-old Troybilt push mower started to have signs of engine performance loss. Also, the gas was leaking out of the cap and vent tube when running. I disassembled the carburetor expecting to see the jets clogged. None of them were thanks to Ethanol Shield. The culprit was the float needle assembly. The rubber needle failed to function properly. I decided to buy a new OEM carburetor since the defective one is now four years old. Installing it was easy. Why is there no choke lever with the new unit? It was not difficult to transfer the choke lever from the old unit onto this one. The push mower now runs at full throttle and cuts grass as well as when new. 8-15-2026 I will not be able to vouch for any long-term quality issues with this product. After watching the Briggs & Stratton 550 EX junk motor drip oil out of the breather tube with the push mower on a level surface with the engine running, shutting down the engine, and checking the oil to discover it was silver due to aluminum shavings being mixed into it, and inserting a bore scope into the cylinder to see oil all inside of it, I replaced the 4-year-old junk from Briggs & Stratton with a Predator 173CC. The Predator puts that piece of junk to shame.

Perfect fit for M230
This carburetor kit was exactly what my M230 mower needed. The mower sat for over a year, and as with most, it did not want to be turned over. Everything in the package fit as expected, and it took about 30 minutes to install. Considering the limited space, it could have been quicker, but haggling with the gas line was a pain. There is a really good YouTube video that walked me through the process, as this was my first and only attempt at replacing it. I would highly recommend watching and going this route as YOU, too, can fix it!

Much easier than individual parts.
My lawnmower was running erratically - surging/ seeking. Noticeable via RPM's up and down. Initially, I ordered individual replacement parts (main jet etc) which cost more than this replacement carburetor!! The parts are still on backorder and the supplier told me they were special order items and that I couldn't receive a refund!! I am/was choked!! Although all of it is a plastic POS it solved my problem. I received it in 2 days!!! A noteworthy mention: the carburetor does not come with a choke lever!!! Why? I have zero idea!! Really poor. Resolution is to remove the choke lever off the old one carefully without breaking it. It too is plastic!! Very stupid that this one part cost me 20% of the purchase price of my lawnmower!!!

Had to get a refund
This is supposed to be exact replacement as my original Briggs and Stratton, 725exi is the motor, It's looks the same but it has a plastic auto choke butterfly not brass like the original. It started first go but, it didn't sound right, pops, loses power. I ended up thoroughly cleaning my original and it works perfectly again. I am Disappointed it would have been good to have this as quick swap out.
