I’m Impressed.
I was planning to buy a purifier to help with the pollen and food smells and chose this model. It has worked very well for a 2 bedroom apartment. Its not too big, not too small, so I keep it next to the dining table and the system is set to Auto or Eco. Both detect air quality and adjust the fan speed accordingly. In terms of noise levels, I agree with most reviewers that it’s very quiet on low settings; high setting being comparable to the noise a kitchen extractor makes.Allergies and sneezing are less in these few weeks, and the smell of food definitely does not linger as long as before. In a 2-3 hours it’s basically gone. I hope to keep updating as I go but I can already tell this one is a keeper.

An extremely efficient air cleaner.
I absolutely love my Conway air purifier. (I've even named it my angel.) I leave it running constantly, and I have definitely seen a marked improvement in the quality of the air in my home. I live in an apartment complex with connected apartments, and I know some of the air from others gets into my apartment. This air purifier helps with keeping my air clearer. I love that it "smells" the air and will automatically increase the fan speed to clear it out even when I can't smell anything. I have had it now for several months, and it has worked extremely well. Its size is just right for me and my apartment, though because of the shape of my apartment, I have to move it between the living room and bedroom. I was told I would have to keep it clean for it to work most efficiently, and that has not been a problem. Takes about 10 minutes with a vacuum cleaner. I would highly recommend this air cleaner for anyone, whatever size they buy.

Good quality, quiet on low, noisy on high
Everyone says this is the best air filter unit for the money. I don't know, maybe it is maybe it isn't. But it does work and it's very quiet on the low setting and reasonably quiet on the medium setting. On high it gets quite loud, but you really don't need it to be on high under normal circumstances unless you're burning something in the kitchen. Anyway, I like it, and it definitely removes dust and other particles like smoke and makes the air noticeably better. It's also fairly compact and light weight, so it's easy to move if you need to. The lights on top might be annoying to you, but you can always cover them.

New filter smell is noxious
I’m lucky enough to walk through my urban environment without any chemical or scent sensitivities. But the HEPA filter in these Coway units are so chemical smelling that I immediately get a headache and nausea from them. It takes a long time of running the unit for the scent to dissipate. The Wirecutter review mentions this horrible, caustic scent but says it’s a resolved problem. It is not. Coway even mentions it in their FAQ. They know it’s a problem. I emailed and asked for a replacement filter because of Wirecutter’s assertion that it was a thing of the past, so surely I just got an old filter? Coway will not send you a new filter, they just tell you to run it in a room with a window open (so if it’s the middle of winter or the height of summer, you have to wait for spring or fall?). For context: I bought one unit, the one with the grid face, in September 2024, when it was 113°F in Arizona and it came with a toxic off-gassing filter. I left it outside for a week and then braved running it inside until the smell dissipated (obviously, one cannot open a window in Arizona in the summer, it doesn’t go below 100°F at any point in the day or night for many months at a time). It was a long 5 days of putting up with that smell. I ordered another unit in October, this time the other style that looks like an iPod shuffle face. Again, the filter smells noxious, and gives me a headache. Upshot: I will not be buying replacement filters directly from Coway, luckily there are lots of third-party offerings out there. Coway KNOWS this is a problem and doesn’t seem interested in solving it, despite making a product promising to make your environment less, not more, unhealthy. Wirecutter has dropped the ball by suggesting it’s no longer an issue. If, like me, you don’t have a million spare rooms to run an off-gassing air polluter behind a closed door with a window open until it converts to an air-cleaner, I’d strongly suggest purchasing from another brand.Update: I got another Coway Airmega. I wanted one for my bedroom. I’m jealous of the people who seem to be getting filters without the smell problem, because it happened again with this unit. It smells like you’ve walked into a cheap carpet warehouse where they also happen to be storing slightly burned sneakers. I’ve never experienced that with the HEPA filters for my AC or any of my vacuums, it’s a Coway specific thing. It’s also mentioned in many reviews if you search here. It’s bad and it lasts for days, over 7 days for the smell to lessen this time.Once that’s over and you’ve just gone ahead and breathed in all those noxious fumes, the unit works great! The auto function is awesome, it really reacts to things that kick up dust, like if I shake out the pet bed or scoop cat litter, sending the unit into high mode for a few seconds in response. When it’s on speed one, which it is most of the time on auto-mode, it’s almost completely silent. I like that I can turn off the large blue air quality indicator light, but why in the world don’t the two green lights that indicate speed also turn off with it? The unit is pretty far from my bed so it doesn’t bother me at night, but they are really bright. I’ll get my replacement filters from someone else, because I’m not going through that awful sick feeling of off-gassing the Coway brand filters again, but I do like the units and how they function a lot.

Great.
Love that it reads the quality of the air and is fairly quiet.

Love this so much I bought two!!
Love this air purifier so much I bought two. The first one I purchased four years ago for a loft/office to manage cigarette, dog, and Mary jane odors. It is never off. NO ONE KNOWS!! My home has no smoke/animal odor. I use the ionizer only when I am vacuuming then turn it off after. I keep it on constantly at level 2, where it sits behind my chair. The sound does not interfere with phone/tv. The third level is really loud but can be used for fast purifying or for when you’re not home. Filter management is important. I rinse the front filter screen and carbon filter every 2 weeks. ( I have six carbon filters that I rinse and reuse for six months ) It is amazing how well this filters. The big filter I change every 4 months because we are heavy smokers. The second one we have in the bedroom/first floor. This is a really great air purifier!

So far so good!
I picked these units after a lot of research, finding they are the same as 1512 except for looks, and were on sale by quite a bit. I got 3 for our house. They look great, and setup was really easy. No signs of previous package opening which I appreciate. I was worried about comments of the hepa filters smelling bad but they have no smell. I like the auto mode which seems to work well, it picks up whenever my dogs are near or when using the stove. Other than the highest mode, it is very quiet. Very happy so far!
