Great depiction of Goliath
I love this Goliath and can't wait for my boys to play with it! They will love it! I was not impressed with the David from the same manufacturer.

One of the best from this toy line
Goliath is perfect, bigger than the David toy sold separately and dressed for the part. He has a sword, helmet and shield, as he should. There is a whole line of "Almighty Heroes" action figures. I think it is a really good thing to have Old Testament Biblical themed toys to buy, the Bible has so many compelling stories that are full of... well, action! It is a tough call for any company to make them, as it is hard to please everyone including me. A company may feel pressured to compete with other popular toy lines, like Rescue Heroes. That is not entirely their fault, as a lot of kids love those toys. So this makes the temptation to make the toys into big muscular young characters, and for some Biblical characters that is OK. I will address those in a minute. But all of these characters were not known for being muscular, or young. The other figures are:Noah figure is a very young man, but Noah was the father of 4 grown men at the time of the flood. He does come with a staff and a lamb. Maybe it should be 2 lambs.Moses figure is portrayed as young, and I would prefer he carry tablets and his staff instead of a sword and shield, with Egyptian headdress and armor.David figure has a sling, and the age looks right. But he is wearing a skintight purple superhero outfit. I think the look of his probable historic clothes would still have been "cool" looking.Daniel is muscular and young, OK. Get the version that comes with a lion. But he has a sword and a spear, which is out of character to me. God saved Daniel, not a sword. The figures need accessories so I am sure that is why they are included. Maybe a staff would have been better.Jonah figure is good, get the one that has the boat and whale, but the whale is not very sturdy..Samson is great, perfect for this set., he has a sword and weapon, as he should.Other figures to consider for this line would be Joshua, or Gideon, both had to be warriors. They do have dolls for girls too, Esther and Deborah that I know of. So in the end, just like most Bible based movies and animated shows take liberties with a story to make it more entertaining, the toy company has the same issue. Hopefully they or another company adjust the toys to be a bit more authentic, but they deserve big points for making them at all. Each toy comes with a small Bible booklet as well. The toys are well made and will last with rough play. My advice is to stick to the models that make more sense to you as a parent, so they see that THOSE models are selling better, and hope the company, or other companies, will shift to that in future editions.

Almighty Heroes
It's very refreshing to find a series of toys that represent the values we believe in. We've collected pretty much every item in this series for my son. Goliath while he is the villain also turns out being probably one of the most fun characters to play with in the series because of his size and accessories. When compared to David, Goliath is an incredibly large figure. The story of young David and Goliath definitely comes to life seeing these characters side by side. Buy them both and I recommend the series as a whole.
