Great, affordable bumper mod, but needs a little extra DIY effort!
This rubber skirt is a very cheap and effective way to upgrade the look of your car's front bumper, but the installation requires a few tweaks to get it right.Here are my top tips for a perfect fit:Secure it with screws: The adhesive tape provided isn't strong enough to hold the lip firmly on its own. I highly recommend buying about 10 black self-tapping screws (often called "Chinese screws" at local hardware shops, costing around ₹10-15). Keep in mind that these will screw directly into the plastic, creating small holes underneath your bumper, but they are necessary for a secure hold.Lift the car safely: You will need a car jack to lift the side of the car where you plan to start. You have to get slightly underneath the bumper to align the screws perfectly, so please take your time and be careful while working under there.Notch the corners: Wherever the bumper curves, make 4 to 5 small V-shaped (triangle) snips on the inner edge of the rubber lip. This allows the rubber to bend smoothly around the corners and prevents any ugly bulges.Paint it first: As an extra pro-tip, paint the lip before you install it! I painted mine in advance, and it looks much more premium and factory-fitted.Overall, this is a fantastic DIY upgrade if you are willing to use screws and take your time with the installation!
