Excellent birthing tub
I used this pool for the birth of my 3rd baby. I had my first baby at a birth center in a real, plumbed in birthing tub. My second was at home in a birth tub rented from my midwife. This was my favorite of the 3. It was perfectly comfortable and roomy, and I loved having no stress over if I got my money's worth out of it or not as with the one rented for #2 (I don't remember what it cost but I know it was over $100). And now I can use it for my kids to splash in. It does take a little time to inflate - we used an air compressor - and my midwife had good advice to fill it up once well in advance in case it had any defects or holes - no problems with ours. We picked up a potable water hose for filling and used an old regular garden hose to siphon it out the window. Sitting in the pool I was underwater up to the middle of my back which was perfect and felt amazing. Laying back against the wall (which was sturdy enough to support me) my belly was exposed somewhat but my midwife poured water over it with a bowl.

Strong and dyrable enough for a home birth!
A read a review from a previous person and bought this based on their use for it as their birth pool. It worked like a charm! With the help of a double-action fitness ball pump (2 handed pumping), this inflated in no time. The tricky part was that the nozzle to not complete seal the valve of the pool, so making the air seal with my hand was challenging. The floor of the pool also had air chambers as well. The shape of the valve resembled what is used on water wings, so I was inclined to blow it by mouth... big mistake. I nearly had an aneurysm. I eventually used a slim nozzle from my fitness ball pump to get the air in and to seal it.When we had to use it, the walls were firm enough to partially support the weight of 200lb adult to lean on it from the and and knees position. When my wife was in the tub, she was able to sit upright relax her back against the wall with her arms outstretched along the top. Not much water spillage, which was great since the birth occurred indoors on a plastic tarp. The footing on the floor of the pool allowed my wife to get the traction she needed in the last stage of birthing our daughter. The pool did the job very well, and saved us over $175 from buying a traditional birth pool. We DEFINITELY had to pitch it, despite my daughter's desire to swim in it when we were done! For the price Amazon offered us the pool, we'll invest in another one

Although Funny with the Ocean Pictures it is a great Adult spa.
I had another Intex pool last year that I loved and started using it this year, but I turned my back for just a moment on the empty pool to get a weight to put in it and it flew into the house and the top ring got a whole beyond repair. So I cut the top layer off and my dog has a great pool now. So what about me.I read a lot of reviews about women using it as a birthing pool. Looked at the measurements and liked the added depth. I thought will I am 5'11" it should work for me. It does I can do all the same leg exercises I could in the other 103 by 69 inch one without all the wasted water and space. It is very easy to inflate if you have the intex pool AC compressor. The bottom inflates with a typical mouth blowing piece and the compressor has an adapter for that. It is called a 3 ring pool but it is really one big ring you inflate on the bottom ring. If one ring goes it all goes. It just looks like 3 rings. It does have a drain in the bottom but I have found with my other one it took so long to drain on grass and the suction pulled the cap back over the whole, so I took to putting a small custard cup over the top and the cap stayed open. With this one it is just minutes. I open the large air valve and go quickly to the other side and press down and like a tidal wave the pool is empty. I replace the air cap so it will not get water inside the tube. I now do this because I have the pump, If I didn't I would do the drain thing but it inflates in like 2 minutes.First night it lost air overnight, second it didn't might have been I didn't have the cap on tight. I have 30 days so I'll let you know if it has any issues too soon. If you want to coll of and kick your legs for exercise it is big enough for a 6 foot person to sit and do that, any taller and your legs will hit the sides. I can rest my head on the side be all underwater with feet just resting on side underwater. So the print is a laugh, but who cares when it is 100 degrees out.UPDATE: 6/7/13 YOU do not get the pool pictured now. They have changed the valve you inflate it with to a intertube like one and I had 2 different ones sent to me both had the ossue of the valve cap popping off or slow leaking. It was a bad change to a good pool.

Best pool for home births
Best pool for home births! Comfortable, easy to inflate...I recommend inflating in advance to make sure all is well, and wiping the inside down with a wet paper towel while you're at it...it had a powdery substance covering the surface, but it was easy enough to remove. I gave birth in the pool on my knees, leaning forward with my full weight on the side of the pool and never once felt insecure about the height of the sides v. the amount of water in the pool, or it's ability to support my weight. Also, I LOVE that the floor inflates...the padding was PERFECT for my poor knees lol We put a couple comforters on the floor beneath the pool, as well, though - and covered those with a shower curtain - so it was extra comfy. And while this may be TMI for some, we totally would've washed it out and kept it for our son to use when he's old enough had I not torn and bled as much as I did...wasn't worth cleaning and saving after all the blood and betadine mixed in...but since the price point is so perfect, we didn't mind much at all! Perfect purchase - for keeps or for disposal.

Home Birth Pool - Great quality!
Bought for my home water birth - excellent quality, very sturdy high sides with a perfect depth to add as much water as needed. Can lean on the sides. Padded base makes it extremely comfortable to kneel in as well as sit.Perfect size for me at 5ft8.
