THIS WORKS!!!
THIS WORKS!!! My doctor said It takes so long to see progress because toenails grow much more slowly than fingernails do—that it has nothing to do with the fungus or this product. Some reviewers say Nonyx is simply vinegar (ethanoic acid, which the reviewers say is the same as vinegar) with thickener (xantham gum). But the thickener is the KEY!!!Ethanoic acid, aka acetic acid, like that used in Nonyx (5-10%), can be stronger than regular household vinegar (1-5%).. However, the label doesn’t state the concentration. When I see labeling that doesn’t “brag” about an ingredient or its strength, I assume there’s nothing to brag about. So, let’s go with the idea that Nonyx and household vinegar are both 5% acetic acid. More on that in a minute.Yes, the xanthan gum does give this product its gel consistency, **but that’s also why the ethanoic acid stays where you want it to instead of running down and off your foot.** So the xantham gum has a true purpose! It helps the active ingredient (ethanoic acid) to be more effective by staying in place and not evaporating. That is why, **even if the concentration in NONYX is only equal to that of household vinegar, the product is still going to give superior, faster results over vinegar foot soaks.**Here’s a summary of what I found in my research:**Comparison: NONYX Nail Gel vs. Vinegar Foot Soak for Toenail Fungus****NONYX Nail Gel**- **What it is:** A gel containing 5–10% ethanoic acid (acetic acid), the same active ingredient as vinegar.- **How to use:** Apply directly to the nail and surrounding skin, usually twice daily.- **How long it takes to work:** Since toenails grow slowly (about 1–2 mm per month), it may take several months of consistent use to see clear, healthy nail at the base.- **Convenience:** Very easy to use—just apply the gel and let it dry. It stays in place and doesn’t run off.- **Why it works:** The gel formula keeps the acid on your nail longer, so it works more effectively than liquid vinegar.**Vinegar Foot Soak**- **What it is:** A mixture of 1 part vinegar (5% acetic acid) and 2 parts warm water.- **How to use:** Soak your feet for 15–20 minutes, twice daily.- **How long it takes to work:** Improvement may take even longer than with NONYX, often several months to a year, because the acid doesn’t stay on the nail as long.- **Convenience:** Requires preparation and time for soaking. Can be messy and less convenient than a gel.- **Why it works:** Vinegar’s acetic acid helps fight fungus, but results are slower and less consistent.**Summary Table (Text Only, for Clarity)****Treatment:** NONYX Nail Gel**Formulation:** Gel (5–10% acid)**Frequency:** Twice daily**Time to See Results:** Several months as nail grows out**Convenience:** High**Treatment:** Vinegar Foot Soak**Formulation:** Liquid (5% acid)**Frequency:** Twice daily**Time to See Results:** Several months to a year**Convenience:** Moderate- **Toenail fungus takes time to resolve** because townails grow so slowly (1-2 mm per month)- **I asked my doctor for oral antifungal pills, but she recommended NONYX first** due to the risk of side effects from oral medications.- **NONYX worked for me**—**its gel formula keeps the acid on the nail, which helps it work better than vinegar soaks.**- **Vinegar soaks are a good budget option, but take longer** and are less convenient.

My podiatrist recommended this. I saw results quickly.
Includes first gross update as the Nonyx worksMy doctor made sure that my toe had a fungus. He clipped off a good bit and cleaned under the nail. He told me to buy this medication from Amazon. Of course, I followed his recommendation. I noticed it working quickly. I was told to get behind the nail as much as possible and the front. I feel some burning sensation occasionally but it isn’t terrible. I can tell it’s working. He took a pic on my phone of Before and we are going to do an After picture at my next appointment. I’ll share the icky photos at my dr visit.FIRST UPDATE: this medication says it works by getting rid of the fungus food supply. The toenail fungus eats keratin debris, which builds up under the nail. This med smells strongly of vinegar but for me, it’s been worth it to get this cleared up.After using the Nonyx for two weeks, I could see that the nail was lifting up and the nail looked washed out on the surface. I decided to try cleaning out the ‘keratin debris’. When I examined my toe under the light, I could see gross looking stuff under the nail. Like if your fingernails were dirty and that gunk is under the nail. This is like that but so much worse. There’s a lot of gunk and it’s not dirty like fingernails. Everything looks bleached washed out on the surface nail as the Nonyx works. I made sure to always get this medicine under the toenail as far as possible and it sure responded. The keratin debris was so gross. There was so much of it. Cleaning that out as thoroughly as possible kept the fungus from its food source. By the time I got all that keratin from behind the nail, it was easy to see which part of the nail was ready to be cut off to allow new clean nail growth.

Uses keratolytic agents to break down keratin in the nail bed. See video!
The media could not be loaded. Keratolytic agents, like salicylic acid and urea, are used to soften and remove thickened or damaged nail tissue, often found in cases of nail psoriasis or fungal infections. These agents work by breaking down the protein (keratin) that makes up the nail, allowing for easier removal of the damaged portion. Nonyx uses ethanoic acid which works in a similar fashion to soften the keratin. You MUST use this product everyday or the keratin will just keep multiplying. It's a 4 oz package which last longer, is a gel like consistency and easy to apply with the built in applicator. It's not a cure, b ut seems to work better than others i've tried.
