Some reviews say this doesn't have enough heat, but they need to understand that the idea is to taste the jerky with some heat and pepper flavor. This kit does the job. I was hesitant at first as you are since you're reading reviews. My opinion: this is a great kit that does the job. I ate a piece 5 minutes ago and can still feel the heat on my tongue. If you want it hotter, just add your own pepper to increase the heat, but for me, this one gets the job done exactly as is. I will be ordering more.

Hi Mountain jerky seasoning is really good. If you don't want to make your own, they have some good flavor profiles. This one is the hottest of their selection, and gives a nice blast of heat without being too overpowering. Make sure to wear gloves when using this or wash your hands really well, especially if you wear contacts or have some need to touch your eye.

Definitely need you double the amount of spice or add your own dehydrated peppers to create the desired heat
