Wish I could give 4 1/2 stars
I was really excited to get these. I read a lot of articles and reviews that hyped up the bass that they provided. I have owned a lot of earbuds and really try to find great ones for under $100. I previously owned Koss RUK30 which were some of the best I've owned in terms of sound quality, despite being only like 30-$40.Comfort and LookThe E2Ms excel in many categories. They are very comfortable and fit extremely well. I have had trouble with getting earbuds to stay in correctly in the past. These fit perfectly and don't have to be adjusted once they are in. Bouncing, headbanging, jogging, etc. are no problem with these. The cord looks and feels durable. They are not the coolest looking out of your ears, but they look decent when they are in. They lay almost flat with your ear and do not stick out much which is nice. Most importantly, they don't give you an earache when you take them out.SoundThe bass is good, but not great. It crisp and clear, but it lacks that "punch" that I was looking for. The bass is there, but it just doesn't knock your socks off. I think I am getting to used to cranking my studio monitors... I was looking for some BoooooM, but I guess there is only so much you can get from earbuds. The highs and mids are clear and smooth. I did have to turn the volume up a little more than I'm used to, however it was not a huge difference (few volume taps up than usual).Noise IsolationVery good noise isolation considering you do not have to jam them in your ears. The earbud covers are fairly rigid which provides a better seal once in place.OverallVery good. The travel case is small and convenient. I might actually use it instead of just tossing them in my backpack. Also the mic feature works very well.

Smooth pleasing sound
It's difficult to purchase earbuds because, unlike speakers or headphones, you cannot audition them beforehand. So I have been relying on reviews & the descriptions of others.I knew what type of sound appealed to me. I like full deep bass - but controlled, not boomy. I like a realistic, not hyped high end. Most important I like a warm midrange. In short, I want earbuds to sound like my home speakers - Paradigm Studio 40s.I had long ago given up on the standard iPhone earbuds which sounded small. After reading multiple reviews I purchased a set of Klipsch earbuds, which were described as having a natural treble sound. I found them to be overly bright & unpleasant at any decent volume. I gave them to my wife who has a bit of hearing loss in the higher frequencies. She likes them. Finally, I stumbled upon an ad for Paradigm which introduced earbuds based upon three of their speaker models. One of which was modeled upon the Studio 40s. I am quite pleased with these earbuds. The high end is slightly subdued (compared to all other earbuds and most headhones I have listened to), the midrange is warm & pleasing. The reviews I have read suggested that these earbuds are bass heavy. I disagree. I find the bass to be well balanced. Note: you have to create a good "seal" within your ear canal in order to get strong bass response. You may need to try a few of the earbud "caps" to find the one that will fit comfortably & securely. These are still earbuds, not headphones or speakers, so will always sound "smaller" than their larger siblings. If you want headphone sound, you'll need to listen to headphones. But, for me, within the limitations of what an earbud can deliver, these are the best I have heard. If you are familiar with the Studio 40 speakers and you want an earbud that is "tuned" to a similar sound, I think you will be happy with these earbuds.

Money well spent
I have not used this long enough to give it 5 stars but so far I have enjoyed these earbuds. The fit is comfortable, nice built quality, but most of all the sound is on point. For me voice reproductionis what matters most and in my opinion these guys got it correct. No over emphasis in the bass here.

They're good
They have pretty good sound. I also own Etymotic's ER6i, which does cost more and sounds more accurate and articulate, esp. in the bass range. Besides more accuracy, they fit in the ear canal better. Depends on how much you want to spend for a better product, like most things. They're good for the price.
