This kayak paddle features a sturdy aluminum handle that snaps together tighter than most. It floats well until you have a chance to retrieve it. I had a chance to use this paddle in a river, marsh, beach, mouth of the bay, and creek. It held up very nicely. The paddle ends are very firm, I purposely beached myself on sand and stone, and was able to use this paddle to push me back into the current . It displaces water well, and keeps you tracking fairly straight. Each handle has a soft wrap to prevent blisters, and provide more grip. Paddle ends include water dripping prevention. Similar to Field & Stream plastic/aluminium paddle from sporting good's stores, but blade is much better. It is a budget paddle, not meant for multiple day trips, races, and professional use. That being said, it holds up well, and feels great after all day use. The design and logo is sleek and simple. I will purchase additional products and paddles from Oceanbroad.

I love these paddles!At first I thought the whole thing was metal (yes I had read the description:) and then realized that the paddles are a very sturdy plastic, nicely curved for more powerful strokes. The part that you grip is covered with something that is kind to your hands, doesn't feel cold to the touch and seems softer than the rest of the metal bar.Another thing I like is the ability to change the angle of the paddles by switching to a different hole where they connect.I'm very happy with my purchase!

For the money, you cannot get a better paddle than this. I do a lot of kayaking and decided to buy this as an upgrade to the “free” paddles that came with my two kayaks. The one that comes with a Lifetime kayak is super lightweight (which is nice) but it has flimsy fins with way too much give. The one that came with my Pelican was much better but very heavy. This one beats them both of them, striking the balance on weight with a well-designed, sturdy fin. It makes the kayaking experience really pleasant. Feels really efficient and powerful, plus there is the included paddle leash. Very happy with this purchase and love the price point. Excellent value here.EDIT - I have been using this paddle on long kayak trips all over Florida for about a year now. It has held up extremely well and is still doing a great job. Really happy with this purchase!

Sloppy center joint, paddle has noticeable play between the two halves. It also weighs over 2lbs!

So I bought this paddle thinking it was going to be a pair of paddles since that is what the picture shows. It's not, it's one paddle. They do have an option to buy 2, and the picture is the exact same. The paddle itself seems fairly lightweight and easy to put together but really upset that I bought one paddle when I thought I was buying 2. Probably partially my fault but they need to fix their pictures to match the description. Feel like I was deceived into buying it when I need 2. Definitely won't buy another one to match, I'll go with another brand.

Just received my paddle today, and I can't tell you how ecstatic I am about the quality! I had another brand paddle that cost nearly double than this one that wasn't quality made, wasn't this light, and did not offer hand cushioning support. I plan on taking them out on the water this weekend. If anything changes I will update my review. But as an intermediate kayaker I know the difference between quality and cheap alloy or blades. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend.

Fine paddle for the price, nothing special. One thing I noticed is that the paddle is not straight even when the notches are aligned in the straight position. It's just slightly off but enough to notice during use.

Light and solid but my first outing I was soaked as the splash back using this is brutal. Will go back to the cheapie paddle that came with my boat as it drips but nothing close to the shower I get with this one. Can't recommend it.
