The hydrotech 21401003 filter wrench is the perfect tool to help loosen a stuck filter housing and makes changing the filter quick and easy. You should only use the filter wrench to loosen the sump; over tightening the housing sump can damage the O-rings and make opening the housing more difficult to open later. Review: Seems good - Seems to be of good quality. It is the small one just so everybody knows. I didn't realize that and it was too small for my whole house filter housing; just FYI. Review: must have to hyrodtech tool - it is help to make filter replacement much easier.

If you have the filters you need the wrench
As advertised. Could not get filters off without it. (DO NOT TIGHTEN) Only unpleasant experience was getting the protective bubble wrap off wrench.

Does not fit all Hydrotech filter systems even though is is recommended
This item was recommended with my Hydrotech filters but it did not fit my filter canisters. It looks the part but the diameter of the hole is too small. Amazon was cool enough to refund me my money but it was still a waste of time and should not be recommended for every hydrotech system filter if it is not going to fit!

Will NOT fit Hydrotech filter housing
One would think that a 'Hydrotech Filter Wrench' would fit a Hydrotech filter housing, yes? You would be wrong. This wrench only goes about half way up the housing. If Hydrotech makes different size wrenches, they should clearly state which wrench fits which of their products.
